Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The National Mango Mutiny

Returning from his failed Jerukland diplomacy, Roy K was determined to move past the pickle debacle and focus on something that had always been a source of pride for Cahaya: mangoes.

"Mangoes are the heart and soul of this country," Roy declared to his cabinet. "We must protect them at all costs. In fact, we need a Mango Protection Act."

Aziz, already exhausted from dealing with Roy's latest antics, looked up from his notes. "Sir, there's no need for a Mango Protection Act. The mango industry is thriving."

Roy leaned forward, eyes sparkling. "Thriving, yes. But thriving is not enough! Mangoes must be untouchable. No one shall dare to steal, trade, or even look at our mangoes without permission!"

Farah sighed. "Sir, I think you're overreacting. The Jerukland delegation simply suggested mango exports. They weren't planning a mango heist."

Roy ignored her. "Aziz, draft the bill. Effective immediately, mangoes are Cahaya's national treasure. Any attempt to take them out of the country will be considered treason!"

Aziz groaned. "This is going to end badly."

The Mango Protection Act

Within days, Roy pushed the Mango Protection Act through parliament. It was a sweeping, nonsensical piece of legislation that classified mangoes as a "strategic national asset." The law included bizarre clauses, such as requiring all mango trees to be registered and prohibiting mango exports without a 50-page application and Roy's personal signature.

The public reaction was mixed. While some citizens applauded the move as a bold defense of Cahaya's culture, others especially mango farmers were less enthusiastic.

"This is madness!" shouted Pak Din, a prominent mango farmer, during a televised interview. "We rely on exporting mangoes to survive. This law is going to ruin us!"

Aziz watched the broadcast in the Prime Minister's office. "Sir, farmers are furious. They're calling it the 'Mango Madness Law.'"

Roy waved a hand dismissively. "They'll come around. People love mangoes. This is for their own good!"

Aziz muttered, "I think you mean your approval ratings."

Mango Mayhem

As the law took effect, chaos erupted across the country. Farmers protested outside the parliament building, waving banners that read "Free the Mangoes!" and "No Roy, No Mango!"

Smuggling operations sprang up overnight as farmers desperately tried to sell their mangoes across the border. Roy responded by deploying the Cahaya Special Agricultural Task Force (CSATF), a hastily assembled group of officers equipped with… mango detectors.

One evening, Aziz barged into Roy's office holding a report.

"Sir, we've arrested 42 farmers for mango smuggling this week alone," Aziz said. "The public is furious. They're calling you the 'Mango Tyrant.'"

Roy frowned. "Tyrant? I'm protecting mangoes! Don't they see that?"

"They see it as you protecting mangoes from them," Aziz replied.

Roy sighed dramatically. "Fine. If the people won't appreciate my vision, I'll take matters into my own hands."

Aziz looked alarmed. "What does that mean?"

"It means," Roy said, standing up heroically, "I'm going undercover."

Operation Mango Savior

Disguised once again in his signature trench coat, floppy hat, and sunglasses, Roy set out to investigate the mango smuggling operations personally. Aziz reluctantly accompanied him, looking like a man walking to his doom.

Their first stop was the bustling Cahaya Farmer's Market, where rumors of illegal mango deals had spread. Roy strode confidently through the stalls, stopping at a vendor selling suspiciously ripe mangoes.

"These mangoes look… too good," Roy said, narrowing his eyes. "Who's your supplier?"

The vendor squinted at him. "Who's asking?"

Roy leaned in dramatically. "The Mango Savior, that's who."

Aziz groaned. "Sir, please stop calling yourself that."

Before the vendor could respond, a group of mango farmers spotted Roy.

"It's him!" one of them shouted. "The Mango Tyrant!"

The crowd surged toward Roy, shouting angrily. Aziz grabbed his arm. "Sir, we need to leave. Now."

The Mango Mutiny

The farmers' protests escalated into a full-blown movement. Calling themselves the Free Mango Alliance, they demanded the repeal of the Mango Protection Act and better policies for agricultural exports.

Pak Din emerged as the leader of the movement, delivering fiery speeches about the importance of free trade and the dangers of government overreach.

Meanwhile, Roy doubled down on his stance. During a press conference, he declared, "The Free Mango Alliance is nothing more than a group of mango thieves! I will not let them rob this nation of its treasures!"

Aziz buried his face in his hands. "Sir, you're making it worse."

A Mango Truce

After weeks of protests, riots, and an unfortunate incident involving a mango-throwing catapult, Roy's cabinet staged an intervention.

"Sir," Farah began, "this has gone too far. The economy is suffering, the farmers are in revolt, and mango prices have skyrocketed."

Roy looked around the room, finally noticing the exhausted faces of his staff. Even Meowster seemed less enthusiastic than usual, his tiny paw resting on a half-eaten mango.

"Fine," Roy said reluctantly. "I'll meet with Pak Din."

The Negotiation

The meeting between Roy and Pak Din was tense. Aziz sat between them, desperately trying to mediate.

Pak Din began, "Prime Minister, this law has ruined us. All we want is to sell our mangoes freely, as we always have."

Roy folded his arms. "But mangoes are sacred! They're part of our national identity!"

Pak Din sighed. "Sir, protecting our culture doesn't mean strangling our economy. Let us trade freely, and I promise we'll keep Cahaya's mango heritage alive."

Roy frowned, thinking. After a long pause, he finally said, "Fine. But on one condition."

Pak Din raised an eyebrow. "And what's that?"

Roy grinned. "You name a mango after me."

A New Beginning

The Mango Protection Act was repealed, and the Roy K Mango, a sweet and slightly ridiculous-looking variety, was introduced to the market. Farmers were thrilled, the protests ended, and Roy once again managed to turn disaster into a bizarre victory.

As he celebrated with a plate of mango slices, Roy turned to Aziz.

"See? I told you I had it under control."

Aziz sighed. "Sir, you were nearly overthrown."

Roy waved dismissively. "Details, Aziz. Details."

Meowster meowed approvingly, clearly enjoying his mango snack, and life in Cahaya returned to its usual, chaotic normal.
