Chapter 9: Fula Fula!
Yanyan's room was filled with a lot of plushies. The room's walls were painted in pastel pink, her bed has pink covers, also her curtains. In other words, the room was so girly and childish-looking but despite that, it was a luxuriously decorated princess bedroom.
Ye Shuxin's eyes were dilating with amazement. Just like Yanyan, she actually liked the color pink too.
Wei Zhou, Yanyan's nanny didn't enter the room since Ye Shuxin had already taken over.
The little girl's nanny was actually new in the place that was why unlike other servants, she acted more arrogant.
Since she's new in the place, she fell in love with Yanyan's father the moment she saw him. She was able to hide her lustful desires from others and the master of the place. Just like Ye Shuxin, she actually planned on making him fall through his daughter. She came into the household with great difficulty, she was not going to allow the newcomer to have her way.
She suppressed the greed in her eyes and quietly left the room.
Ye Shuxin was now lying down beside the little girl. She was staring at the ceiling that was decorated with cotton clouds before she turned her gaze back to Yanyan only to see her round eyes, staring cutely at her.
"Close your eyes." It was actually uncomfortable being stared by her. It was making her feel guilty for the evil schemes she has for her and her father.
"But I like you." The little girl's tender voice was heard. She was still staring at her with those big, glistening, glowing eyes.
Ye Shuxin's heart was melting as she looked at the girl's small, giggly face and that sweet dimple.
"How about I sing you a song?"
Yanyan's eyes sparkled happily, she was nodding her head vigorously in excitement.
This was a first. Her nanny would usually read her stories for her to go to sleep but Ye Shuxin didn't know that.
Instead of telling stories, she also preferred singing a lullaby for the little bunny.
She reached out and gently stroked Yanyan's soft hair, smiling at her.
Yanyan was waiting patiently and was looking back at her mother, her body was being filled with her warmth. Maybe it was because she was yearning so much of having a mother that was why she ended up getting easily attached to Ye Shuxin.
"The sky and land take a new look because of me. Fula Fula." She started singing. Her voice was smooth and clear and quiet yet powerful. Soothing, in a way.
"The time suddenly distorts because of me. Fula Fula. The air is filled with sweetness because of me. Fula Fula. The earth revolves around me."
Since it was a cute narcissistic, lively song, it attracted Yanyan's attention.
"The birds fly around me. Fula Fula. The flowers sway as I walk past. Fula Fula."
"Fula. Fula." Yanyan joined in. The tone was only repeating so it was easy to learn.
Ye Shuxin ended up chuckling since the way she sang 'Fula. Fula'' was so adorable.
"The fish dart around cheerfully when they see me."
"Fula Fula!"
"Every being loves a pretty face." She lightly tapped the child's button nose.
Meanwhile, outside of the room, Jin Mingze was standing there. He actually went just to check on them since he knew that it was about time for Yanyan to take an afternoon nap.
"I can sweep away all bashfulness."
"Woo woo!"
"I can drive away all coldness."
"Woo woo!"
"Oh, dear! gosh! What can I do? Why am I so good-looking?"
A soft, low chuckle escaped his lips when he heard them singing in the room. What kind of song was she even teaching his daughter?
He was his little girl's favorite human to go to but now that Ye Shuxin was there, it looked like she became his daughter's new favorite in just a day.
Was that a bad thing?
He was being childish for even getting a bit jealous because of that.
He turned away and headed to his study room. He walked towards his desk and took the picture frame that was standing there.
Jin Mingze stared at the photo of the woman for a while, even stroking it with his thumb.
"Chen Rui..."
The woman's face was clean and refined, it was clearly stunning. A sly look hid behind her bright and intelligent pair of black eyes. Those black eyes were familiar, too familiar. In fact, it looked like the same as Ye Shuxin's. Her eyes had the same craftiness in it. Aside from that, their smiles... it was also similar. If he looked closer at her face and compared it with Ye Shuxin, they almost looked the same. It was just... they have different personalities and styles. Their mannerism was also different.
An overwhelming mixed of emotions entered him as he continued to stare at it. They looked like sisters actually.
That was strange... Was it possible for Ye Shuxin to be related to Chen Rui?
The atmosphere in the room became heavy. Who knew how long he was there, looking longingly at the photo.
It took a while before he finally tore his gaze from it and placed it back on his desk.
He took his phone out from his pocket and dialed his assistant's number.
"Hello? Chairman Jin?"
"Qiu Landi, I want you to give me all the information you can find regarding Ye Shuxin."
"Yes sir."
Jin Mingze ended the call after.
He should have done this before agreeing with the marriage yesterday.
Ye Shuxin took advantage of the situation yesterday and asked him to marry her at once so he wasn't given a chance to look into her background.
If he was going to allow her to stay close to his daughter, he needed to make sure that she was not going to become a problem in the future.
