Chapter 54: Chapter 54 - Capeesh?

Trevor (Today 07:18): Don't worry. Caleb is still alive. x

Trevor (Today 07:21): I missed those lips. I still do. How am I going to focus today?? You're going to be the ruin of me, Miss Avery.

Trevor (Today 10:33): I can't stop thinking about you... I want to see you... Now!

Trevor (Today 13:46): What would you like for dinner? You can choose the restaurant. My treat...

Me (Today 16:23): Thank you for letting him live... I owe you. And as much as I'm going to be the ruin of you, Mr. Walker... You already ruined me... I can't stop thinking about you either. Any place is good... I'll tell you why later x

Trevor (Today 17:36): I'm sorry, Bells. I had a meeting. Okay, wear a dress. Wear blue... I gave Rena a call. She'll meet you at your apartment with the dress and the matching shoes. I'll see you later x

Me (Today 18:03): Okay. Thank you. I can't wait!

Trevor (Today 18:45): Me neither...

I smile every time I think about him. I smile when I hear his voice. Tonight... it might just change our lives.

"Good night, Amabel," Mr. Walker said as he closed his office door and approached my desk. "Good night, Mr. Walker," I said with a smile. I heard him pass by Ella as they greeted each other. After a few minutes, Ella came around the corner.

"Hey, Bells. I think I'm gonna go home. And you should too. You know, to get ready for that date," she said with a wink.

"Good night, Elllaaa," I said and shook my head with a smile. Damn, I love this girl. What did I do to deserve another good friend?

I started packing up my things when my phone vibrated. A text:

Gwen (Today 19:02): Hey, I'm downstairs.

Me (Today 19:03): Hey, on my way.

I went down the elevator into the main lobby. Jessica and Olivia already went home. Wow. That's a first. And Caleb, well he's still there. Just like the gentleman he is, he still opens the door for me with a smile. I have to say something.

"Thank you, Caleb. Hey, I'm sorry about what happened this morning. Trevor shouldn't have talked to you like that. I'm really sorry. It won't happen again."

"It's okay, Amabel. I didn't know that you were dating Mr. Walker. And I should be the one to apologize," he said. I kinda wanted to tell him that we're not dating. Maybe I should tell him. I mean, it's not like Trevor changed his mind about being my boyfriend overnight.

"Actually, we're not dating. We're... it's complicated. But I really am sorry," I said and started walking to the car when he stepped forward. I waved goodbye, afraid that he might try to kiss me again. I got into the car and Gwen drove away.

"Was he just going to kiss you?" Gwen asked. Uh, what the hell happened to 'hello'?

"I don't know. Maybe. I hope not, because Trevor almost killed him this morning. He gave me a kiss on the cheek last night to say 'happy birthday' and when he wanted to apologize this morning, Trevor heard everything. I was going to hit him so I dragged him with me to the elevator. I don't know what to do, Gwen. I want Trevor, but he doesn't want me the way I want him. I've been thinking about moving on and maybe tonight, after we've settled things, I will."

"He was going to hit him for kissing you?" Gwen asked. I nodded and then she sighed.

After a few minutes we got home. Gwen parked the car and then we went to the apartment together. We got inside and she locked the door.

"Go get ready. He'll be here any minute," Gwen said, shoving me to my room.

I decided on wearing a light blue dress with my white pumps. I didn't want to wear anything big. Simple, yet classy. After a little bit of makeup, the door knocked. Gwen opened the door and I heard their conversation.

"Hi," Trevor said.

"Hi," Gwen said dryly.

"Is she ready?" he asked.

"Almost. Do you want to come in?" she asked. I could hear the anger and disgust in her voice. Oh, boy. She'll kill him.

"Sure, thanks," he said.

"Listen, I don't know why you asked her for dinner, but if I see as much as one tear from her eyes when she gets back, I will hunt you down, and kill you. She's been hurt too many times. And she's new to this, yet she knows what she wants. All I'm saying is, don't hurt her again. She's my best friend. I will protect her with everything I am. And you should too. So, I'm giving you one more chance. Break her heart, and I will make sure that you never see her again, understood?"

"Yes, ma'am. And I don't plan on hurting her again."

"Good. You might be Trevor Walker, but I'm Gwen Williams. Break her heart, and I'll break your face, capeesh?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"And stop calling me ma'am. We're not in the 1800′s." Damn, she's giving him a lot of crap. Thanks, Gwen. And I'll protect you too. And you won't even have to say a word.

I walked out of my room to see him standing there. Nothing fancy. Just jeans and a white T-shirt. I love it. Maybe we're not going to any fancy restaurant at all.

"Wow, you look..." he started.

"You don't look so bad yourself."

"Remember what I said," Gwen said as she walked us out.

"Oh, I will. Believe me," Trevor said, all serious.

"Wait, what did you talk about?" I asked even though I knew what they were talking about. But they don't have to know that.

"Nothing. Just some propositions. Enjoy your night," she said, giving me a hug before closing the door. When the door was closed, Trevor and I stood in front of it as if we were about to knock. He held out his hand and then I took it, hesitantly. I guess I was still afraid.

He walked us to the elevator and when we got downstairs, Jonathan wasn't there. He brought his Bugatti with him and opened the door for me. I got in and watched him walking around the car and got in too.

"So, where are we going?" I asked him.

"Anywhere you want. So, where to Miss Avery?" he asked with a smile but keeping his eyes on the road.

"I really don't know. Why don't you surprize me?" I suggested. I really had no idea what I wanted to eat. I guess I'm more nervous than I was before. Just Trevor can make me feel nervous. I wanted to kiss him so badly. But then I remember, everything about us is too complicated.

"Why are you so quiet?" he asked me. I hadn't even realized how quiet it was. I enjoyed looking out the window. He took my hand and placed it on his lap, holding my hand at the same time. I looked at what he was doing and felt butterflies in my stomach.

"I guess I'm just thinking," I said.

"About what?" he asked and glanced at me.

"About you," I said.
