Lin FenXiang opened his eyes, staring at the floor beneath him with half-lidded eyes, the Marquess pursed his lips, taking a deep breath before he spoke, the tranquillity of his voice matching with the peace of his location.

“Father William,” he murmured calmly, hands still joined as he prayed in his heart. “What do you know? What information do you have privy to that I do not?“

Father William looked up, eyes raising towards the ceiling that Drystan Meyer had once painted himself, albeit a bit begrudgingly.

“What could I possibly have privy to, Marquess?“ He asked back in a faint voice. “It isn't as if I choose to snoop in your private business.“

“Of course,” Lin FenXiang drawled in a low voice, dropping his hands on his sides as he slowly stood up. “The Revealer wanted to share gossip with you.“

“Indeed, Marquess,” Father William nodded slightly as Lin FenXiang looked back at him over his shoulder, standing tall as his sharp gaze bore into the pastor.
