Chapter 170: The Masquerade

The grand hall was filled with people. I was beginning to feel too conscious even though my face was covered with a mask. 

"Relax, Rafael," Eve whispered in my ears as she passed by me. People were still staring whenever they see her and I was beginning to suspect that it was more than admiring how she looked in the dress that we had bought. They were staring because of something else.

The memories that came back to me has shed some light on this account. They were staring at her because she was a reminder of a person whom they know before. Just like Avalyn and Shay. These people know Eve's original, whoever she was. It also appeared that almost anyone knows of her. She was most likely someone whom everyone knows, if I was to make a guess.

"Am I being too obvious?" Eve nodded, giving my shoulder a pat.
