Chapter 20: Chapter 12

A once beautiful city burns as the citizens suffer the consequences of their arrogant lords. The army decimated, any defense they mount is obliterated by the mad dragonoid in mere moments, beams of nuclear energy evaporate kilometers of land before them, digging molten valleys into the land. All at the hands of one young girl.

Soon all that remains of the city is rubble, the ground scared, as if giant claws had dragged themselves through the earth. But still the girl destroys, lashing out at nothing, as if attacking the world itself, as she moves, seemingly planning to destroy everything on the continent. When a crimson haired woman and ephemeral fairy make their presence known, unaware of the curious eyes that watch them, they try to reason with the girl, but they find themselves unable to, as corrupted magic leaks from the child. The magicules themselves carrying the intent of destruction and revenge.

But as the 3 entities prepare to fight, they freeze, as the world around them seems to get heavier. And the child instinctually lashes out at the new arrival, the same nuclear beams that had destroyed entire swaths of land now seemingly as harmless as a feather, as the energy seems to disappear.

(Crimson pov)

I was aware of the empire of the saints crusade to kill a true dragon, I could even guess that they had done so with the intention to control the dragons child, but I never would have expected that the child would manage to destroy the empires capitol in a single day, one day it was there, the next it was a burning pile of rubble.

I had come to watch the show unfold, as well as make sure it did not spread to other lands. I cared little for humans, but it would affect the world at large if an entire continent was destroyed, so I would interfere if the child moved to other lands.

And when It became clear that the child would do just that, I appeared before her, alongside Ramiris, the spirit queen had come with similar intentions as myself, to contain the destruction to the empire, but she had far more care for humans than myself. Not that it mattered much, I would be thankful for the help, the dragonoid seemed as powerful as myself, and berserk enemies were always troublesome.

As me and Ramiris prepared to engage, telepathically communicating battle strategies, my senses suddenly put me on alert, as something felt distinctly wrong. And the atmosphere seems to become heavy. A void appears in my senses, as if all of the magicules in that area simply ceased to exist, and as I move to look at the source of the void, the child attacks faster. Having reacted instinctively to the strange presence they were the fastest to react.

And a launch a beam of energy like the ones she had just used to destroy a city just moments before, but as my eyes lock on target, I watch as the energy disperses harmlessly just before the void, and I briefly thought the skill had failed, but the molten trench leading right up to the void before suddenly stopping spoke against that assumption.

And an amused voice fills the air, sending a chill down my spine. I knew I could ignore the blast with little to no damage myself, but to be able to completely erase it as if it had never even happened in the first place? That confused me.

"Don't you know it's rude to attack someone you just met? I thought Veldanava would teach you better than that." The insinuation that the entity we were facing knew Veldanava personally meant they must be one of the strongest entities in this world, so why did I not know who?

"Don't worry, out of respect for your father I won't kill you, but I will teach you a lesson first, after all you did wake me up from my nap, and no one wakes me up from my nap." the voice becomes cold and dangerous as they finish their line. And as I'm about to open my mouth, my intuition yells at me, and I teleport away, only milliseconds before my previous location completely ceases to exist as a pillar of light stretches backwards from the ground to the sky.

And a light, more powerful than anything I had ever seen before, turns the night to day for an instant, so hot that the ground itself sublimates.

(an, sorry its been a while since I updated this story, but here's a chapter, now I want to get this out of the way early so people don't complain later, but you may have noticed me referring to Guy Crimson as just Crimson, and mentioning that they were a woman, see Crimson is the love interest of this story, wait wait, don't drop yet, in this AU Crimson cant change gender at will and has always been a woman, hence why I removed the "guy" from the name to avoid confusion. So yeah. That's all from me, go check out my other stories, I think their all pretty good, and check out Apocalyptic AI, my only ongoing non fanfiction story. Peace.)
