Chapter 31: HIS PRIVATE POOL

With a long smoking pipe in his hand, Evandros stared at the man standing before him. The man was wearing a long black cloak with his face covered, only his eyes could be noticed. It was the exact man who was in the inn of the cross-sect squad.

"I told you not to show up here," Evandros said, his gaze narrowed and for some reason, he was extremely agitated. "Not to show up? Why are you dragging this out so much? You need to let her escape otherwise your plan will go down the hill, dragging me along." The man said, his voice tense, holding a little harshness in his tone as well.

"Don't tell me what to do," Evandros said and sat up on the throne, throwing the smoke pipe away in irritation. His brows scrunched in frustration as he stood up from the throne walking towards the man who had the same height as him.

He stopped in front of him.

"The plan will be carried out the way it was planned," Evandros said, staring into his eyes. "But I don't see the plan getting accomplished any sooner, perhaps you have gone soft for her." The man said in an uncertain tone. Evandros snorted before speaking in a very casual tone.

"Don't let your imagination run wild, perhaps you have forgotten, I bear no heart as my demon had blackened it." He said, folding his arms behind his back before turning around and proceeding towards his throne.

"Let Evenor go first." The man said and Evan halted midway, slightly turning his head to the right, he proclaimed.

"They will escape together," Evandros said, his gaze filled with menace discretions but deep down only he knew...there was an unknown sentiment in the pit of his heart and he didn't want to dig in and find out what it was. Maybe, he was itching to kill.

He hasn't massacred for so long. With a clenched Jaw, he sat back on his throne. His legs carelessly sprawled as he raised his dull gaze looking at the man with an expression the man clearly understood.

The man quickly shook his head and stepped forward. "Don't forget how she left you, how she lied about her love for you, how she killed your mother and this was all for her benefit." He said, his voice slightly thin as he rasped in hatred, once again trying to stimulate the demon inside him.

Evandros gazed at the man through his lashes as he rubbed his temples with his fingertips. The hand that was stroking his temple was now caressing his chin.

"I know, I haven't forgotten." He said and raised his hand, gesturing to the man to leave already as he was in no mood to talk with anyone, let alone see anyone at the moment. The man continued to say something but he could no longer hear him, for some reason....for some reason he didn't feel good.

He felt queasy.

When he saw the man still standing in front of him, he abruptly stood up from the throne and walked out of the room, leaving the man behind who was almost rumbling in the room on his own. On his way to the back side of his manor's garden, he ordered something to his servants.

The scent of fresh leaves, grass, and flowers raided his nostrils. He took a deep inhale before leaning against the trunk of the tree. The cold breeze caressed his body, making his robe flutter and his long black locks dance in the air.

He looked magnificent.

With his head low and eyes closed, he only had one thing in his mind and before his dark sight.

It was her.

Why can't he get her out of his mind?

Not like he ever did but this time, it was even more severe.

He knew he loved her and is hating her but in both of these emotions, there lay something like an obsession. He knew he was obsessed with her no matter love or hate. He tried to get rid of these feelings but they just keep getting intense.

He believes he needs a mind doctor.

Reclining against the trunk for a while, his calm face scrunched up in frustration when he heard footsteps. He opened his eyes as his void gaze fleeted toward the maiden coming towards him. The maiden froze in her steps when she noticed his gaze on her. She lowered her head and clasped her trembling hands together.

"M-My Lord, this useless servant c-came to inform you that we h-." By the time she was stuttering with her head low, she flinched like a cat, whose tail just got stepped on. He silently walked past her, leaving the garden. The maiden clutched her chest and turned around, gaping at the place from where he just exited.

"Demon." She muttered under her whiff with her lips in a pout.

The man, on the other hand, walked through the dark corridor. His steps were silent and he looked like a ghost wandering in the manor because of his pale skin, his expressions were sullen. The wind penetrates through the opened corridor, caressing his hair and robe.

He turned to the other corridor and halted in front of the door, his feet naturally getting warm from the steam oozing out from beneath the door. He stood there for a while before opening the door and entering. He locked the door and loosened his robe. His steps were slow as he proceeded to walk.

He was in his private hot pool.

The steam wasn't heavy so everything was clear in one's sight.

He paused when he saw a familiar figure. Wrists tied up by chains sat Megara on the wet marbles. Her head hung low, her ravishing brown locks rested on her shoulder. His eyes were focused on her bruised wrists before they went down to her loosened robe. Her calves were exposed as she sat in a very uncomfortable position. He could not see her face.

He walked forward and halted right in front of her. He saw her shoulders moving, indicating that she flinched. She reluctantly raised her head, her green orbs directly staring into his void ones. For some reason her eyes were puffy and her face was red.

"What....is the meaning of this?" She queried reluctantly.

He stared down at her, his gaze so intense she had to look away. When he did not answer, she turned her gaze away. Her mind was perplexed. She didn't know why she was in such a place, possibly he had something unspeakable in his mind.

"Meaning of this...." He walked away from her, coming back with a box in his hand. He slowly bent down in front of her. She stared at him with a deadpan face but her mind was in a complex state.

He raised his hand and pushed her locks back. She could not help but stare at his face, afraid he would hear her heartbeat.

"I was getting bored...but then I remembered I have a thing to play with."
