Chapter 7: Peaceful Garden

When Jessie woke up,she found herself lying somewhere else apart from where she expected to regain consciousness.

Pushing her bottoms up from the grass she stood on her feet, her eyes darted around where she found herself, the place was filled with different colourful flowers, somehow she felt at peace staring at them.

The flowers look beautiful and attractive to the eyes,and one couldn't ignore the urge to pluck one.

The chirping of birds filled the place,and butterflies roaming freely everywhere. It beautiful.

"Wow, It beautiful," she wished she could stay here forever.

Jessie move her feet and walk over to one of the flowers near her, crouching down before them, she closed her eyes and take a long whiff of the sweet scents emitting from the flowers,

She opened her eyes and settle on them,her hand reached for one of the flowers ready to plucked it, however, her hand went through the flower, unable to touched it, Jessie gasp in fear, and move away from the flower falling on her bottoms as if in shocked.

"It sense your dark intentions," a manly voice said behind her,

she jerked her head towards the direction,and her caramel eyes lay on a man standing not too far from where she was, he wore a long white garment that reached his ankle and a white string loosely tied around his waist, his feet in a thong sandal making his fair toes visible, while his olive green eyes staring back at her with a knowing smile on his face.

"What?," she asked her voice coming out like a whisper.

"The flower," he remarked,walking over to her, and continued,"it didn't grow to be plucked out of its stems, and didn't let you touched it knowing your intentions are not pure,"

Realizing her mistakes,"I'm sorry," she apologized and try to get up but a hand was shoved in front of her, she looks at the hand then to the man offering his help. Who continues to smile at her,

She didn't reject and placed her hand on his,which he gladly clasped and help her on her feet,

"Thank you," Jessie said, removing her hand from his, he offered a her bright smile accepting her appreciation,

Jessie stared at him, somehow he looks familiar,"where's this place, I strangely found myself here,"

"Garden of Peace," he stated and start to walk on a narrow lane, confused she followed him,"that's what place like this, is called," he explains his hand clasping behind his back.

Jessie frowned and glance at his silky shiny hair that fell on his shoulder, they're neither short nor long. She peered at the place,and noticed there's no dead end, it was full of flowers and trees all over the place,

Her gaze fell on the man broad back, she shoved back her hair,that were flowing due to the air blowing, and stuck some of her hair behind her ear,

"I want to go back to where I came from," she let him know, "do you know the way?,"

Jessie heard him chuckles,and he asked,"which? To a place you were known as Jessica Baker or Dana Williams Beaumont?,"

This made Jessie to halt from her walk and watched the man in front of her, how did he know? Unless he...

"Who are you?," she asked her eyes narrowing at him,he turned to her,still holding a smile and continues to stare,

His smile made her came to a certain conclusion, he is the Guardian angel of her,

"You're the fucking Guardian angel! Aren't you?," she demanded her eyes squinting on him, waiting for an answer,

He nodes,"yes,I am. You shouldn't use such language in a pure place like this, exercise some patience"he calmly let her know,that infuriates Jessie even more,

"I'm fucking reincarnated as a teenager and the worse part,among vampires, I needs to go back to my old life! I can't survive in a place where they had no idea about technology!,"

The Guardian angel sighed,"you have to die again,but I can't guarantee you to wake up again,"

Jessie shook her head, no, she isn't going to die again, dying is painful likewise reincarnating, rather she inquired,"Why? What sin did I commit in the past to be reincarnated this way,"

His smile widened,"Good thing you're in the past, a chance for repentance,"

Jessie clenched her jaw in anger, this man is getting on her nerves,she take a deep breath and exhale, by trying to calm herself,she begged"then reincarnate me somewhere else,"

The Guardian angel, retorted"it was your fate to be reincarnated this way,I was ordered to make it happen," Jessie sighed, there's really no fucking way out, she placed her hands on her hips looking at him, "you have a purpose being here, we all do," he added at the end,

Jessie glared at him,"what's your name?," she caught him off guard with her question, he look away and start walking again, she follows him after being ignored,

"I have to know your name, I can't call you Guardian angel all the time, it's not like I care though" she explained herself,

"I shouldn't say my name to anyone,it forbidden," he acknowledged her, she watched as a bird flew their way and sat on his shoulder.

Jessie clasp her hand behind her,and said,"That made me curious,I can give you one,you know I'm good at giving name,"

"I am not a pet,"

"I never said you are,"

He continues playing with the bird, and said nothing.

"Are you born?," Jessie dropped another bombshell, and this time the Guardian angel halted and turned to look her way, Jessie quickly averted her eyes realizing she might have said something that wasn't supposed to be asked and look somewhere else,she walked passed him.

His olive green eyes followed her,lingering on her for some seconds,he darted his eyes to the bird on his shoulder and whispered something incoherent, it flew away, his sight settled on Jessie again, this time he saw her took a seat on the grass, and turned to wave at him to come.

He walked over towering at her,"you shouldn't ask me questions, sit on this," he wave his hand beside her,and a garden chair appeared, with flowers entangled in it.

Seeing that,Jessie smiled at him and stated,"I can see you're good with magic,"

"It's not a magic, it's ability I posses,"he corrected her,

Jessie mouth shaped, 'O' her head bobbed in understanding,she stood up and sat on the beautiful chair, she ushered him to seat,which he obliged.

"Amyas," Jessie muttered, "How about Amyas?,"

"hm?," he asked, and turned his head at her confused on what she's talking about.

"I mean I should call you Amyas," she said without looking his way,

"Is that even meaningful?,"

"of course, it means loved,"

The Guardian angel felt a sudden skip in his chest, he cleared his throat and look away from her,"you need to live this way, as Dana,"he tried changing their conversation by advising her,

"I hate to admitted it, I really wish there's a way to get out of here, I want back my former life," the Guardian angel noticed disappoinment in her voice, "in your old world, nobody knows you, you're forgotten,"

Jessie gasped jerking her head at him,"how?,"

"That's how it's supposed to be, your mission is to live in this life as someone else,"

She asked,"what's my purpose of being here?,"

Sensing her gaze,he turned his head at her,"that you have to find, what's your purpose? Why are you here? But before that, you need to live the life you're given, as Dana,"

Jessie averted her gaze,her palm cover her face as she cried in frustration,"how am I supposed to live the life of someone I never knew what's going on with them, argh!! This is annoying!,"

She remove her hand and look at him,"help me,please," she begged.

The Guardian angel looked away from her,"you just have to go with your new life,learn and live like them,"

"They're vampires for Christ sake!," she snapped at him,he wasn't faze by that, in a sedative manner, he advised"learn to live with them,"

In disbelief,she stared at him,"I can't believe you're being like this when you're supposed to share my pains,"

"I'm not here to feel or share your pain, am a Guardian and was here to help you," he reasoned with her.

Jessie slapped her forehead in anger,he behave like a gentleman which she hated of course.

"You're annoying Guardian angel, are all Guardian angels like you!," she couldn't help but barked at him in frustration.

He didn't answered and watched as she got up from her seat, which he did the same and a white fog surround him,it vanished and an old man with a hunched back appeared, holding his walking stick, his body wrapped in a tallis.

Jessie was amazed,she give him a thumb,"I love that you can transform, this was the man I met first in my former life, but can I see your face?,"

"No,I look ugly being old,"

"Oh I see, your voice sounds nice though," she complimented,

He changed his voice"How about now," Jessie rolled her eyes at him,"it irritates, because it reminds me of my grandpa's voice, it's raspy and commanding. So irresistible, you know, he's the father of the person that took me in when I'm homeless,"reminiscing her former life as Jessica Baker,

Hearing that,he changed his voice back to his normal voice,in concerned that he's triggering her past,"Follow me, let's get you out of here,"

She follows him behind, they walk in silence and the Guardian angel breaks it,"you should act like their real daughter,even though you are. Act like you lost your brain which is expected considering you slept for over two moons and inquired for a governess,"

"Governess?," Jessie repeated,

"Yes governess,like an educator,"the Guardian angel explained,

"They're vampires," Jessie reminds him,

The Guardian angel didn't say anything for a while,while Jessie eyes were on him, she was taller than him now, after he changed to an old man,with a hunched back, and merely walk if not the support of his walking stick offered him,

If one saw him this way,they could mistake him to be a real old man suffering, but she knew better,

She wonder what his real face looks like, wasn't the first one? Or this?, Jessie asked herself internally,

She was startled when he suddenly spoke,"Beware when you're around them, vampires sensed peoples fear, anxiety, nervousness and a lot more of emotions, as Dana you had lost your vamparic self and was turned into human due to the witches poison,you don't have to worry about them finding out you're human,they knew already" he acknowledged her,

"Okay, I still can't believe I was here,it feels like a dream. How did you brought me here," Jessie asked out of curiosity,

"I took your soul in here,"

Jessie eyes widened,"are you the angel of death?,"

"No, I'm your Guardian angel,every human have one that protected them, the angels can either be good or bad,"he explains,

"I'm sure you're the good one Amyas, I am lucky to have you I guess," Jessie told him smiling cheekily, unknown to her she's triggering some emotions in the innocent Angel.

Amyas,aka the Guardian angel felt a skip and sting in his chest again, he cleared his throat,

'I shouldn't feel this, I'm an angel,' he inwardly told himself, surprised by his own feelings.

Jessie on the other hand, unaware,asked"Do you live here?,"

"I owned this place,I sometimes spend most of my time here when I have less work to do, it peaceful," he explained,

Jessie nodded her eyes peering around,and inquired,"How old are you Amyas?,"

"I have lost count, I could be more than thousand years, and don't call me that," he warned at the end,

Jessie's covered her mouth,"Oops, too bad for you, I can't seemed to stop, especially when I'm warned,"

He ignored her,and instead said,"Dana was poisoned by some venomous poison gotten from witches on her eighteenth birthday, In brief, it leads to the young lady in a deep slumber,she died while getting treated and you're chosen to replaced her,"

"In short,you mean I'm the scapegoat here," Jessie said sarcastically and rolled her eyes,

"I thought so too," hearing that from the Guardian angel,had Jessie glared at his back, "looks can killed," he let her know,and she was quick to look away with a humphed, he must have eyes behind him, she thought.

"Here we are," he stopped in front of a stream, Jessie jog and stand beside him, her hand went to cover her mouth gasping in surprised, it looks magical,with butterflies flying on the grown flowers above the water, the stream was sparkling and shinning as if the water itself were diamonds.

"It beautiful,"

"You're diving into it, to go back to your parents,and face what fate has stored for you," Jessie nodes listening to the Guardian angel, she look at him unable to see his face with the tallis he wore,itcovered almost half of his face,"are we meeting again?,"she asked,

He whispered in respond,"Call me,and I will be there," a smile welcome her face,"thank you," Jessie mumbled,she turned and lift her white night dress a little,she walk into the stream without looking back at,

The Guardian angel watched as the young lady went inside the stream, going deeper until she cannot be seen, leaving the water shallows. He sighed transforming back to his former look and walked away from there.
