Myrene and the rest of the students gathered in the classroom once again. The door opened and Solace entered with his usual sinister smile on his face.
"I hope everyone had a nice long break." He said and as usual, he didn't receive that much reaction from the class.
"Let's not make anything delayed further and meet the rest of the Seven Keys. The one who will become your teacher." He said as he snapped his fingers.
All of a sudden everything became pitch dark.
"What?!" Myrene and the rest of the children let out a yelp when the whole floor of their classroom opened up or more like it disappeared. And all of them absolutely fell.
"Ahhh!" Screams of horror resounded one after another.
However, Myrene remained calm. She scoffed inside her mind. 'What am I even thinking that this will be a pretty normal classroom? So this is the beginning of the storm.
She glanced down and all she could see was pitch darkness. 'So this is the reason why they let those collars out. Or it would be an instant death to any of us.' Myrene waved her hand and she did the same thing she did back at her naming ceremony, however as soon as the touch of wind felt her hand, she froze. Memories from the naming ceremony flashed to her mind.
*Crap!*
*Boogsh!*
'That was so close.' Myrene looked at the shadow that cushioned her fall. 'Ah damn this trauma acts as it pleases all of the sudden.'
"100, 60" Myrene immediately stood up when she heard 81's meek voice.
"Where are you?" It seemed from 81's voice she was in pain. That was when Myrene remembered 81's words earlier.
{"You're an elemental magic user! That's so cool, it means you can have plenty of use for it! Unlike us, ours is very limited!"}
'Don't tell me...'
At that exact time torches lit up one after another followed by drum rolls. 'This..." Myrene was horrified by what she saw.
"It hurts!"
"Please someone help me."
"Mama. I want to go home already."
Painful cries resounded everywhere.
"100, 60,"
"8-81," Myrene clenched her fist as she ran towards 81's direction. All her body was impaled into sharp ice spikes. Not only her but half of her class was. And 60, though he was not impaled he was unconscious beside the spikes that impaled 81.
"100, it hurts. Wi-will I die?" 81 outstretched her free right hand to Myrene. "He-help me, Myrene. I-I don't want to die." Her face looked completely frightened, very contrasting with her usual cheery expression.
{"Milady,"}
{"I'm sorry."}
Both Ares and her mother's dying faces flashed to Myrene's mind.
"Damn!" Dark flames started to form Myrene's fist. 'This is the first time I'll be using my fire magic. But Damn, being discovered or not, I don't care anymore.'
{"We did everything we could. But they lost too much blood in the accident.}
{News Report: A Couple on the day of Christmas Eve died in a car crash.}
Her past life's memories resurfaced in her mind. The death of her parents, her only family.
{"Remember, Myrene, that you are never alone; if one person leaves you, others will come into your life again to give you aid or relationships you'll never expect to have. Never forget to open your heart and mind to all possibilities. This is my final warning and parting advice to you."}
"I'm sick and tired of all this bullshit." The dark flames from both her hands spread further. Creeping to the ice spikes and it immediately got thawed. Myrene caught 81 swiftly in her arms.
"1-100,"
"I guess you're right. It's my nature to care easily for others." Myrene wiped the blood on 81's lips. A green bottle appeared in her hand, "Drink this, it's a healing potion," then 81 drank it. Her wounds started healing. However, it was too hard for her to keep her consciousness. "Just sleep now with your brother, I will handle the rest." She placed 81 beside the unconscious 60.
Then just like she did with her daggers, she brought out more potion and manipulated it with her wind magic. It flew towards all the children who were gravely injured from the spikes. And Myrene gestured her hands.
"If all of you can still move, drink that. It's healing potions."
The children desperately clung to the potion with their remaining strengths.
'And just like that, the supplies of healing potion I earnestly collected for two years of my training were consumed fast.' Myrene glanced up when she heard one clap after another.
"Impressive, this is the first time many survive in the first trial."
"Aw, my ice got wiped out easily like that."
"100 is it?"
Above the room were eight people sitting at the very top. Two people were familiar to Myrene, the headmistress who was sitting in the middle, and Solace who was on her left side.
"I, Radeus, the Key of Endurance wanted her in my class." A bulky man with a lion head and horns pointed at Myrene.
"Are you getting ahead of yourself?" Everett, the Key of Seduction, a lady wearing a red seductive dress that fitted all her curves. She had very long beautiful green hair that sparkled like the emeralds. And her eyes were the same red as Myrene. "She is quite a beauty with those silver hair and the same eyes as I am. A symbol of direct blood only deserves to be under me."
"Hah. And what would she get from your puny class."
"She doesn't deserve to be under a masochist's class."
"You..."
"Stop your senseless argument. Don't you notice how strong her magic was? She should have been to the House of Hearts at this rate? She even uses fire, dark, and wind which are three elements already." Plaridel, the key of knowledge spoke which made the other turn to Myrene seriously this time who remained quiet all the time.
"The records of the examiner given to me was that," Solace said. "But the moment I laid my eyes on her, I knew she was not normal."
"House of Spades, you are the Seven Keys I presume?" Their conversation were interrupted by Myrene. "You said that I would need to stay here for four years, but I decided that I will leave this place now."
The dark flames surrounding Myrene intensified, followed by the strong gust of wind. Shadow hands kept appearing on the ground. "And I will bring everyone here with me."
"Then does it mean you are ready to go against all of us?" This time, the headmistress finally spoke. At her words, a heavy and pressuring aura formed to her and to each of the keys.
"You are just a child, what can you do to the eight of us?"
The other children who were watching the entire scene became extremely terrified than they already are. Myrene could also feel the intense pressure but this time she would not submit to these monsters.
"Then how about this? I will go against her headmistress?"
Everyone turned around when a voice suddenly rang through the room. "I will be her opponent, if I defeat her, I will finally move to the House of Hearts and all of these students other than her will be brought to the Jailhouse. And if she won, would you grant one of her wishes?"
50 casually walked in front of Myrene. "What did you think? Your top student against this newbie here? That would be a much more fair option right?"
