Fatigue was starting to set in for Gus. As much as he wanted to avoid it, he could tell that his body was giving up on him. His movements began to get slower, and when he tried to buy himself some room against the lion the space he earned was starting to get smaller.
The lion, on the other hand, showed no sign of slowing down during the fight. In fact, it seemed to only grow in speed as the fight drew on and Gus' body became even more tired. It was as thought he beast could sense that its prey was weakening, and that the optimal time for it to strike was drawing closer and closer.
Just when it felt like Gus would have to do something or collapse, the lion struck decisively. Lunging at him in a way that it hadn't since he was forced into using his Styxian skill, the lion pounced on him and finally hit the target. And, unfortunately for Gus, the skill that he had used didn't work again to stop him from being harmed.
