At home, Lance Hua stared at her unblinking after she retold him the entire finding of the horse market visit.

"And you said it was because of the plan to take my horses to make it as if the couple died because of my doing?" His brows were knitted in a thoughtful frown.

"Yes, my lord, I'm afraid so."

Chiaki didn't speak much that evening after she had told him everything she and Kayla heard from the market, but her heart itched to ease off her husband's predicament.

"You can rest now. I'm going to think about this, probably pulling up the old records," Lance Hua smiled curtly at her before standing up from the dining table.
