I woke up the next morning feeling jittery. I remembered what Dana had say. Everyone goes. Today, I might see him.
I hopped out of bed, hopping in the shower and scrubbing extra hard before walking out. I pulled on my clothes quickly before walking out.
I made my way to the food area, grabbing the bloodiest meat I could find before tearing into it. My stomach rumbled in satisfaction as I filled it with exactly what it wanted.
Once I was done, I searched the room until I found Ruby seated at a table with a bunch of other girls chatter in away.
“I told Dana I’d be there this morning. Can we go?” I interrupted.
“You can go,” she said, nodding.
“Alone?” I asked, incredulously.
She grinned, amused by my surprised expression before saying yes.
I rushed out of the room and out the front door before she could change her mind. I grinned, enjoying the fresh air as I watched through by myself. It was a short walk but I felt freer than I had been in awhile.
