Chapter 8: CHAPTER 4 PART II

"Well, then buy it. I'll give the chance to you." The client moved to the sidelines, sneering, "I'm not falling for it. This backpack is just worth one loaf of bread!"

The stall owned smiled fawningly, wary as he inquired, "So…."

"I'll buy it since he doesn't want it." Su Han took two loaves of black bread from her pocket, handing it over.

The stall owner went wild with joy, "Okay, here is your backpack, please hold it well!"

Wearing the backpack, Su Han continued looking at the other stores.

The previous client was completely stunned. His mouth opened wide, and for a long time after that, it was unable to close.

Su Han used the last loaf of black bread to exchange five candles before going to the stall next to it. She asked, "How much are you selling the lighter and flint for?"

The stall owner's mind immediately livened up— this is a rich patron! Handing over a great many pieces of bread without even batting an eye!

He was impassioned, "Dear customer you've sure got a great eye! The lighters I've got here are limited edition, very precious!"

Su Han was speechless, "Don't. I'm buying a lighter to burn things, I don't care whether it's limited or not."

After all, limited editions only look good and have commemorative value. The amount of fuel in it wouldn't be too generous.

The stall owner had nothing to say.

"An ordinary lighter will do. State your price. Right, I want a flint too." Su Han said indifferently.

One had to know that Flintstones were good things. It was made of lanthanum and cerium, as hard and brittle as alloys. The moment it got struck, sparks would fly.

If a strip of magnesium were added, then it would be even easier to start a fire.

The lighters were good too. However, there wasn't too much fuel in it. It wouldn't provide too many uses. Flintstones were different and could be used lots of times.

The store owner's lips moved. He asked, "It's not an issue to give the flintstone to you. The problem is, what can you give?"

Su Han retorted, "How much do you want?"

Even though she had plenty of stuff left in her storage space, however, she didn't want to be taken advantage of.

"Tell me what you have first." The stall owner insisted.

Su Han returned the same thing to him, "Give me a price first, we can continue chatting if it's appropriate, if not I'll find someone else."

If not, I'll find someone else. These words couldn't be more effective. This one store owner, in particular, had been waiting for a good while. However, there weren't too many people interested in the flintstone.

In reality, when exchanging things, people were already no longer taking the original price of products to heart. Most of the time, they were more willing to see how many people needed it. If it were in great demand, then it'd naturally sell for a great price. But if no one wanted it, then it would not matter how valuable it was.

The stall owner wet his lips, telling the price he had in mind, "Five ordinary lighters, one flint, and one magnesium strip as a gift in exchange for two loaves of bread. No less!"

Looking at her storage space, Su Han was slightly helpless, "I don't have black bread left." She did have buttered meat floss buns. However, she didn't plan on exchanging it.

What are you still talking about then if you don't have it! The stall owner immediately rolled his eyes.

Su Han continued, "Will 1 bar of soap snd a bottle of milk do?"

Soap?! The stall owner's eyes widened. He knew that the price of soap in the black market was sky high at this moment. One bar of soap was able to exchange for two and even three loaves of black bread!

"Deal!" The stall owner eagerly agreed to it.

Su Han placed the flint and lighter into her backpack and left the market with the exchange made.

Naturally, her wealth had attracted the attention of a certain group of people. Some secretly followed her, trying to find a hidden place to carry out the robbery.

Su Han took leisurely strides, revealing a small smile. Of course, she knew that riches could move one's heart. What she knew even better was that, in the current world, food and daily necessities were even more precious than riches.

Were a normal woman in her place, they naturally had to avoid attracting attention, going to different markets to gather the supplies they needed one by one. However, she wasn't the average woman.

Su Han had learned self-defense before and specialized in shooting with catapults. She had abs and often went camping out in the wilderness, a real manly girl.

Su Han thought she'd been staying in the noodle restaurant for too long, and the customers she saw were mostly good and not worth referencing. It was time to find (catch) a person to chat with about the situation with citizens at the bottom of society.
