"Even the most ordinary ingredients become incredibly delicious after being cooked with Qi. If you find yourself with nothing to do in the future, you could consider opening a barbecue restaurant. It would be a good way to alleviate some of the financial pressure on your family..." Clark said softly to Robert as the latter was finishing up.
"Jonathan has been suggesting that we either take out a loan to buy a new farm or that you enter an eating contest to see if you can win any prizes."
Even though Jonathan and Martha were speaking at a time when Clark was far away from home, his hearing was sharp enough to catch their conversation clearly. He had no objections to Jonathan's suggestions.
After all, for Clark, as long as the two farms were not worlds apart, taking care of an extra farm was just a matter of convenience.
And regarding the eating contest, after seeing Robert's appetite, Clark didn't think anyone could compete with Robert, not ordinary Earthlings, let alone average aliens!
"Burp!" Robert swallowed the last bite of grilled meat, let out a satisfied belch, and with shining eyes, asked Clark, "An eating contest?! Is it a competition to see who can eat the most?"
Robert: (☆▽☆)
"It seems you're not opposed to the idea..." Clark, noticing Robert's excitement, could not help but smirk reluctantly and then laughed helplessly. He was at a loss as to whether Robert preferred eating or fighting more.
Clark didn't know that Robert would definitely prefer fighting originally. For Robert, food was a nice-to-have but not a necessity.
However, now that Robert had Saiyan blood running through his veins, not only was his penchant for battle accentuated, but his previously mundane interest in food had turned into a passion.
Because Robert's genes were telling him that he couldn't go hungry anymore.
"How could I be opposed to delicious food? Besides, indulging in a feast not only satisfies my stomach but also helps with the household finances. Why not?" Robert said with a smile, wiping his mouth, looking forward to participating in the eating contest.
"It's supposed to be this weekend. We'll know more after talking to Jonathan and the others when we get back," Clark recalled and then looked at Robert with some anticipation. "What exactly is this Qi? Can you teach me?"
"Of course!" Robert looked back at Clark with equal anticipation. Truth be told, Clark was already so physically strong without cultivating Qi that Robert could hardly imagine how much more powerful he would become if he did cultivate it.
Robert had seen from weak to strong, the fastest and largest improvements were in Broly, who controlled the power of the Great Ape in his human form, going from being far weaker than the Z fighters to sparring with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta in just one fight!
That battle even shattered the dimensions of the universe, showcasing the absurd level of their combat power!
Robert thought that while Clark's improvement might not be as drastic, it could be comparable to the difference between a normal state and a Super Saiyan!
After all, Clark's physique was robust, meaning he could gather a more potent Qi, and the strength of one's physique and Qi are complementary.
"Come! Follow my guidance..." As Robert began to share the secrets of Qi, trying to help Clark tap into this power that had always existed within him, something unexpected happened.
"Hiss!" As Clark followed Robert's instructions step by step, his eyes suddenly turned red, and a beam of red heat vision uncontrollably shot out from his eyes, similar to his previous encounter with the Kamehameha wave.
Thanks to Robert's quick reflexes and alertness, he dodged in time and was not harmed by the heat vision. Still, the power behind it was so strong that it left a deep, immeasurable crack in the ground.
Robert: ┌(.Д.)┐
"Robert, are you okay?!" Clark, equally shaken, retracted his heat vision and asked with concern.
"It worked? Doesn't seem like it!" Robert, ignoring the crack in the ground, looked at Clark quizzically and muttered to himself.
To Robert, shooting beams from one's eyes was not unusual. While Earthlings and Saiyans might not use such techniques, many aliens could attack their opponents with eye beams.
Even on Earth, there were experts like King Piccolo, Piccolo Jr., and Tien who could release light from their eyes to attack others.
But, having the ability to shoot light only from the eyes was new to Robert, as those with similar powers usually preferred attacking from their mouths...
These techniques didn't involve much skill. Earthlings and Saiyans' eyes and mouths don't have any special properties, making it difficult for them to channel Qi to these parts for attack without affecting their combat abilities. Thus, typically, only aliens with unique appearances used such techniques... ahem, not that only those who looked like monsters used this method.
"I don't know. I did as you said, and then I felt a force inside me being released through my eyes, not much different from the lasers before..." Clark said, somewhat hesitantly, after hearing Robert's muttering.
"Ah, you have a unique energy within you that you haven't fully mastered yet, preventing you from cultivating Qi," Robert analyzed after a thorough observation.
"This energy doesn't behave like Qi; it doesn't have as many applications but seems to replace Qi's role and position, acting as a special force that strengthens your body. And this energy can be released through your eyes!"
"We need to figure out where this energy comes from and whether it can become stronger with training. If so, then this energy isn't much different from Qi..."
