"Huh?" Valis was confused.
"Well, Mr. James Valis, we wanted to form a contract with you, to exclusively do 'hero work' under our company. We would of course, pay you and market you to the people worldwide." The strange man in the suit told him.
"What? I don't speak whatever strange stuff you're trying to tell me. Say it in more terms, akin to a way I would understand it." Valis was still confused.
"Uh, then, we wanna partner up with you, and have you be our company's mascot. We'll have you do hero buisness under our company's name."
"I guess that'sa bit more understandable. So what's in it for me? Besides your weird currency." Valis asked, rather bored.
"Well, we'll have alot of plans for you, but if you do make us alot of money, then we'll give you things you want. Housing? Food? Random playthings? Doesn't matter, we'll get it for you." The suit got from his seat to walk over to James.
"You have a family? Doesn't matter, we could get you a new one-"
He shouldn't have said that.
His breathing was abruptly stopped, a severe force held his throat shut.
"Hlgk-"
His neck was being slowly crushed by a force he couldn't see. Or rather, he hadn't glanced down to see what was choking him. His face grew a deep purple as his eyes lowered to the one who had their grip around his throat.
"Who the hell do you take me for?" Valis exclaimed in anger as he lifted the man from off of his feet.
"Hk-" The suit couldn't speak.
"Listen here kid, I'll take your stupid deal, only for the 'money', but never, ever, for a second, think you or anyone else are above me. Because you are not. If I wanted to, I could wipe your planet in a moment's notice." Valis dropped the man onto the ground. He clawed at his throat, as he could barely breathe properly.
*Cough*
*Cough*
"Shit, okay, okay, that's a deal." The suit struggled to stand. "I-I'm deeply sorry, I'll contact my boss immediately to let him know that you accepted it."
Valis stood at the window, straightening his neck-tie. He stared down at the city of Tokyo, looking down at all the people. He was a king, no, a God, to his Earth, and to this "new" one.
He was unstoppable.
A threat even, if provoked.
