Sam woke up in a void and exclaimed to himself, "Where am I? Who am I? Why am I here?" He complained to himself for about 10 hours, remembering how he had died. He died because he had overworked himself on a project, staying up for approximately 7 days straight. He thought he deserved a bonus, but now he realized that the trophy he wanted was meaningless. He wondered where he could go from here and thought about getting a cool superpower like gene alteration or having Rick's memories like he had read in a fanfic on the site called Web Novel. Sam was from our universe and understood references, movie culture, and books. He had done a lot of research on culture, but he didn't always understand why certain jokes were funny. He made up daily scenarios about how he would use super cool abilities to go to other worlds and become the strongest. He had written down a couple of plans in a notebook called Volume One Superpower Exploration. Although he thought it was not very sensible to make an actual book about it, he quite enjoyed it as it was like writing a book about himself going into different worlds. He didn't want his creation to manipulate his actions, so he hoped the book never gained sentience. If it ever did, he promised himself that he would destroy it as he couldn't bear to watch it suffer in an empty void. At this point, he didn't know whether or not knowledge of his past life would be useful if he ever got reincarnated. He wondered which world he would go to first. There was Harry Potter's world, Marvel's world, and Marvel's movie world, which was too powerful for him. After all, if he had been spying in the world right before Thanos, he probably would have been dusted before he could even do anything.
