Chapter 14: Casting the Final Piece

After returning home and spending some much-needed time with Aryan, Suraj's mind quickly shifted back to his next challenge: casting the perfect actor for the climax scene of Bloody Commando. The scene in question was pivotal—introducing the main antagonist, a muscled man in a black suit, interrogating his enemies with brutal precision, cutting off a finger for every unsatisfactory answer. It wasn't just any role—it required presence, power, and menace, all packed into just over a minute of screen time.

Suraj knew exactly the kind of actor he needed. Someone who could carry an entire scene with a single glance. Someone the audience would remember, even if he only appeared for a minute and a half. And in Bharat, there was one man who fit the bill perfectly—Kamal Singh.

Kamal Singh was one of the biggest stars in Bharat. With a physique like a tank and a reputation for playing intense, larger-than-life characters, Kamal was a box-office magnet. Suraj remembered how he had admired actors like Salman Khan in his previous world, and Kamal Singh seemed like this world's equivalent.

But convincing a star of Kamal's stature to appear in a single scene was no easy task. Suraj knew he had to sell the role like his life depended on it. He picked up the phone and dialed the number of Kamal's agent, his heart racing with a mixture of excitement and nerves.

---

Two days later, Suraj found himself sitting across from Kamal Singh in a posh office in Mumbai. The actor was as imposing in real life as he was on screen—broad-shouldered, with an intense gaze that seemed to pierce right through you.

"I've heard you've been persistent," Kamal said with a smirk, leaning back in his chair. "You're making your directorial debut, and you want me to play a villain in a single scene? Interesting pitch."

Suraj smiled nervously, but his confidence grew as he began to explain the role. "This scene is the turning point for the entire film. Your character is introduced here, and even though it's brief, it sets up the tension for the sequel. The audience will leave the theatre talking about you—your presence, your aura. It's not just a role, it's a moment."

Kamal raised an eyebrow, intrigued but skeptical. "You think one minute of screen time can have that much impact?"

Suraj leaned forward, his passion spilling over. "I know it can. This scene will define the villain, the story, everything. It's dark, intense, and your performance will leave a lasting impression. I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe in this, Kamal. You're perfect for this part."

Kamal considered Suraj's words for a moment, his eyes studying the young director. After a pause, he nodded. "Alright, I'll do it. But I want the scene shot right—no compromises on quality. If I'm going to play this character, it has to be as you say—memorable."

Suraj grinned, relieved and excited all at once. "Thank you, Kamal. I promise you, this scene will be unforgettable."

---

The very next day, they arrived at the location—a crumbling old factory on the outskirts of the city, chosen for its gritty, industrial atmosphere. The production crew worked quickly to set up the scene, dressing the set with props and preparing the lighting to give it an eerie, shadowy feel. Metal pipes, flickering bulbs, and the sound of dripping water filled the background, creating the perfect stage for Kamal's entrance.

As Kamal stepped onto the set in the black suit, looking every bit the menacing figure Suraj had envisioned, the entire crew went silent. His muscular frame filled the room with a presence that could only come from years of dominating the screen. Suraj couldn't help but admire how perfectly Kamal embodied the character he had created in his script.

Suraj adjusted the camera angles, going over every shot in his mind. The scene would only last 1 minute and 20 seconds, but it had to be flawless. It had to convey the ruthless nature of the antagonist without a single word wasted.

"Kamal, in this scene, it's all about power. You don't need to speak loudly or rush your movements. Every word, every gesture, should feel like a blade. When you cut off his fingers, you're calm, controlled—like this is just another day for you. That's what will terrify the audience," Suraj explained.

Kamal gave a short nod. "Understood."

The cameras rolled, and the scene began. Kamal's character sat in a darkened corner, his face barely visible in the dim light. The man in front of him, tied to a chair, trembled with fear, his face covered in sweat. Kamal leaned forward, his expression calm and unnerving, and began asking questions—each one more threatening than the last.

For every question, the man stammered, offering half-baked answers, but Kamal's character remained unfazed. Then came the moment Suraj had been waiting for—Kamal picked up the knife, its blade glinting in the low light, and without breaking his calm demeanor, sliced off the man's finger.

The blood spattered on the floor, and the man screamed, but Kamal didn't flinch. He simply asked the next question, as if nothing had happened. The scene played out in perfect tension, every second dripping with suspense.

When the final take was done, Suraj exhaled deeply. He knew they had captured something extraordinary.

"Cut!" Suraj called out, unable to hide the excitement in his voice. "That was perfect. Absolutely perfect."

Kamal stood up from his seat, stretching his arms as the crew rushed in to prepare for the next shot. "Good job, kid," Kamal said, giving Suraj a firm nod. "You were right. This scene... it'll stick with people."

Suraj smiled, watching as Kamal walked off the set. He knew that this scene, this climactic moment, would be the one to hook audiences, to make them crave more. It was the perfect teaser for what was to come in future installments of Bloody Commando.

As the day came to a close, Suraj called Aryan during a break, updating him on the progress. Even with the heavy responsibility of directing on his shoulders, hearing Aryan's voice always brought a sense of peace.

"How's it going, bhai?" Aryan asked, his voice full of curiosity.

"We're almost done with the final scenes," Suraj said, smiling. "I'm coming home soon. We'll watch the movie together when it's done."

"I can't wait!" Aryan's excitement was palpable.

Suraj hung up, feeling a warmth in his chest. No matter how stressful or busy things got, Aryan was always there to remind him why he was doing all of this in the first place.

With Kamal Singh's unforgettable performance in the bag, Bloody Commando was one step closer to completion. The dream was almost a reality. Now, it was just a matter of seeing it through to the end.
