Stanley paused at the man's words.
Change the system that has lasted for 100 years. He didn't know why, but he kind of liked the sound of that. Not everything needed to be changed, but there were certainly some things that could use change.
'Is that what the female equality thing all was?' he thought.
His sudden halt had clued the man in on the fact that he had some chance. "Su-surely you have some things that you want to change too right? Why not let me go? I can introduce you to the mayor and you can tell him what you want changed too," he said.
Stanley thought for a bit, holding tightly onto the man so he wouldn't leave, and asked, "What sort of changes are we talking about?"
He wanted to learn some things before he fully even gave the thing any more thought.
"What sort of new system are you talking about? Can you be a little more specific?" he asked the man.
