Chapter 19: Chapter 19 The World In The Book, The Magic Book That Can Fly

"Correct..."

Luffy, no longer fixated on the ten-man team, stretched his right hand, grabbed onto the mast, and jumped in front of Nami at the helm. With a sunny smile, he asked the new navigator, "Nami, what's your opinion?"

"Me? I have no opinion!" Nami was taken aback by Luffy's sudden question. It seemed he was genuinely considering her as a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. This stirred some tumultuous emotions within her, but she quickly suppressed them. She had no intention of truly joining the Straw Hat Pirates. Pirates, in general, were her most detested group. Whether it was the Dragon Pirates or any other pirates, she held no favorable opinions of them. Over the years, she had witnessed countless pirates using the excuses of "freedom," "partnership," and "adventure" to commit heinous acts and cause suffering. The Straw Hat Pirates were no different in her eyes.

However, if the magician Alan were to learn the truth and actually proceed to confront Arlong, the murloc who had framed him as a pirate, it would be better to eliminate the Arlong Pirates altogether. Nami couldn't shake off the thought that the seemingly gentle and polite Alan might be a psychological deviant who enjoyed killing people. If the rumors were true and he truly possessed the same bloodthirsty nature as the notorious killers, it would be troublesome if he posed a threat to the safety of everyone in Cocosia Village. People couldn't be judged solely by appearances; their true nature had to be observed first.

Lost in her thoughts, Nami tightened her grip on the rudder, her hands turning white due to the force. "I'm really looking forward to the next crew member!" Luffy, placing his hands on the back of his head, expressed his excitement. "What kind of person will the 'Pirate Hunter' be?"

"Do you mean 'Pirate Hunter' Roronoa Zoro?" Nami was surprised by Luffy's words. "I've heard that he was captured by the Marines stationed in the 153rd Branch of Shields Town recently."

She hadn't expected Luffy, a captain just a year younger than herself and with a seemingly naive personality, to be interested in recruiting the notorious pirate hunter as a companion. "Eh? Even Nami knows about him?" Luffy said happily. "That means he must be a good guy!"

Nami rolled her eyes and spread her hands, saying, "I've only heard rumors about Roronoa Zoro, the 'Pirate Hunter,' being a man resembling a 'demon.'" Whether the rumors were exaggerated or not, they would find out in Shields Town.

As for Luffy, Alan wasn't surprised by his decision. He knew that Luffy was the kind of person who easily trusted others. The fact that he had found Alan, a partner capable of creating all sorts of incredible magical items with his Teigu and possessing great power, filled him with anticipation for their next crew member.

"If you want to meet him sooner, I have a way to get to Shields Town by this afternoon!" Alan said with a smile.

"Really? Alan..." Luffy's arms shot out, grabbing Alan's shoulders as he looked at him with wide eyes, eager for confirmation.

"Don't be joking, with this single-masted sailboat, even with my control to enhance its speed, it would still take until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest," Nami interjected, rolling her eyes at Alan's seemingly far-fetched statement. "And that's assuming no unexpected situations like storms or heavy rain occur."

"I'm a professional navigator hired by you, Deputy Captain Alan," Nami continued with confidence. "I guarantee that there's no one in East Blue who can surpass me in sailing skills. However, if you truly dislike it, I will return the commission you paid earlier. But there's no turning back."

Although Alan didn't mention it, he had a way to reach Shields Town without relying solely on the ship. He had flying-type Teigu, but it would be more convenient to use the universal magic book with a group of people.

Alan casually mentioned the flying-type Teigu but decided to use the universal magic book instead. The boats beneath their feet disappeared into the sea, and a golden book the size of a palm materialized in the air. It opened from the middle, revealing a luxurious sea-view castle on the coast. A tiny boat with several figures aboard appeared on the shore.

Luffy, Nami, and Kirby blinked in surprise. The vast sea they were just looking at had disappeared, replaced by a close-by coastline with lush green vegetation and a massive castle. The sun shone brightly, and the sky was a beautiful blue. It felt like a warm sun rather than the harsh midday sun. When they looked back, the vast and endless sea with its blue waves came into view again, accompanied by chirping seagulls and a refreshing sea breeze.

"Al?" Luffy exclaimed.

"Where are we?" Nami asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

"Welcome to my book world," Alan smiled, revealing that they were all inside the magic book. "The sea behind you is the real world outside."

"What? Are we inside a book?" Luffy asked, bewildered.

"Alan-san, are you telling the truth?" Kirby questioned, finding the situation quite peculiar.

Alan confirmed their suspicions, stating that he had placed everyone inside the universal magic book, and the sea they had just seen was the real world outside. He snapped his fingers, causing the tiny universal magic book outside to close rapidly. In a matter of moments, it disappeared into the direction of Shields Town.

"Be patient here; in three or four hours, we should arrive at Shields Town," Alan reassured them.
