Chapter 144: Saving Grace

Song Jia smelled the stench as soon as she entered. Her nose wrinkled at how much it stank.

Her eyes darted at the sight in front of her.

Females as young as fourteen years old and middle-aged were in cages. Two women lay motionless on a makeshift bed at the very end. The two men helped themselves with those women.

Blood rushed toward her head. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fist. If looks could kill, the two men should already have turned into ashes.

She glanced behind her, nobody had taken notice of her trespassing on them yet.

The women in cages were shivering in the cold and fear. They looked at her with apprehension and horror. Perhaps in their mind they were thinking she was there to look for her own furnace as well.

As they were about to make her presence known, Song Jia shook her head at them and lifted her finger towards her lip. 'Shhh..I'm here to help.'
