Makai tries to pull me into his arms but I dodge him with a scowl, and for the first time when I hear that voice inside my head, I don't startle.
"You're not mad?" The voice is hesitant and hopeful.
"Oh, Rain, not at all. You helped me. And I'm happy you had a moment with Kitai. Those lips are a delight to kiss, aren't they?"
I feel another blush. "Oh, yes... Rain?"
I shrug. "Do you like it? I thought it was fitting. It goes perfectly with Storm."
I don't know how, but I know he's smiling. "Rain-Storm. I love it, thank you Storm."
"Oh, thank you for helping me out. And I'm so happy we can chat! We'll catch up later, okay? We have so much to talk about. And you can tell me about you and Kitai."
I feel his shy happiness. "I would love that, Storm."
I return my attention to my mate.
"Talking to your wolf?"
"Yes."
He grabs me suddenly and pulls me against his chest, holding on firmly while I struggle half-heartedly to free myself from his grasp.
