In a grand mansion, a young man sat on the sofa, bewildered, his gaze blankly fixed on the large flat-screen TV in front of him.
First, there was some news that could be either good or bad: he had likely transmigrated.
As an orphan, Ethan Walker had no ties in his original world, so suddenly being transported to another world wasn't something he couldn't handle.
Then, there was some genuinely good news: his background in this world seemed quite favorable. Just the fact that he was in a mansion of over two thousand square meters indicated as much.
A regular office worker suddenly transmigrated into the life of a wealthy young heir—if this were a dream, Ethan felt he should be laughing in his sleep by now.
With a heart full of joy, Ethan readily accepted the fact that he had transmigrated. He got out of the large, comfortable bed and eagerly turned on the TV.
The wonderful life of a wealthy second-generation heir was about to begin. The mere thought of it was exhilarating.
"Playboy Tony Stark attacked in the Middle East, mysteriously missing!"
The next piece of news followed:
"Commemorating the 67th Anniversary of Captain America's Heroic Sacrifice."
Ethan: "…"
The joyful smile on Ethan's face slowly froze.
What the hell?
He had gone through all the trouble of transmigrating, becoming a wealthy big shot who could spend money like water, and now you're telling him this is the Marvel Universe?
Damn it! He wanted a refund! A refund!
Money might be great, but life is priceless!
There's an old saying: "Better to be a dog in peaceful times than a man in chaotic times."
The Marvel Universe was chaotic enough to rival only the SCP Universe or the neighboring DC Universe—this couldn't even be described as a chaotic era anymore.
To put it bluntly, even the Ultraman Universe would be safer than the Marvel Universe…
As Ethan was reeling from the realization that he had transmigrated into the incredibly dangerous Marvel Universe, a sudden surge of unfamiliar memories erupted in his mind.
After lying lifelessly on the sofa for a good half hour, Ethan finally snapped out of it and sat up slowly.
Although the unfamiliar memories were just fragments, Ethan had managed to piece together his identity and background in this world.
In this world, he wasn't just some regular rich kid, nor was he the offspring of a powerful government official—he was a "terrorist heir."
What does that mean? His father in this world was a notorious international smuggler. But instead of smuggling drugs or people, he dealt in contraband from various countries.
From small arms to nuclear weapon materials, the Walker family was involved in it all, making them a notorious terrorist organization on the global stage.
According to the memories, Ethan also learned that just yesterday, his father in this world had met his demise.
And now, Ethan had officially ascended to become the new leader of the smuggling cartel.
Upon receiving this unfortunate set of memories, Ethan nearly died from the shock.
His last life, though tough, at least didn't involve playing with his own life.
In this life, though wealthier, he couldn't accept the idea of risking his life so recklessly.
"Screw it… Since I'm here, I might as well make the best of it. Maybe I can turn this smuggling operation legit, right?"
With that thought, Ethan finally begrudgingly accepted his unfortunate background.
No matter how bizarre his identity or the world he was in, he still had to keep living…
Ding~ Containment System successfully activated!
This system aims to popularize SCP containment across the multiverse, allowing people of all universes to experience the tension and excitement brought by SCPs!
Note: If someone refers to you as the 'Bringer of Calamity' or the 'Source of Catastrophe,' please remain calm. This is a normal phenomenon!
Ding~ If you wish to know more about this system, please refer to the user manual.
Ethan: "???"
The system mentioned something about "containment"—could it be the one he's thinking of?
At this moment, Ethan was freaking out.
If his guess was right, then this world was about to become a whole lot more chaotic.
The Marvel Universe was already dangerous enough, but if you added SCPs into the mix, there was no telling what might happen… There was no way two negatives were going to make a positive!
Who in their right mind would be interested in SCPs? What universe would welcome them?
"SCPs" aren't just any specific object or creature; they can even be supernatural phenomena. Any project involving anomalies or the supernatural can be classified as an SCP.
"SCP" stands for "Secure, Contain, Protect."
With a racing heart and trembling hands, Ethan nervously opened the so-called system user manual.
SCP Containment System
Note 1: The only currency in this system is Legend Points! They are earned based on the emotions SCPs evoke in people—the more people focused on an SCP, the more Legend Points are generated.
Note 2: The host can consume Legend Points to either randomly summon an SCP or specifically choose an SCP to summon.
Note 3: Any SCP summoned will initially be in a free state, and the host must re-contain it.
Containment System Benefits
Benefit 1: After summoning an SCP, the system will reward the host with something related to the SCP.
Benefit 2: After re-containing an SCP, the host will gain either the SCP's abilities or its control.
Benefit 3: The host has access to a containment space, which can be freely arranged or reclaimed.
Newcomer Rewards
Reward 1: One random SCP summoning.
Reward 2: SCP Navigation Map (It will guide you to SCPs in their free state).
Reward 3: Three Resurrection Cards (As everyone knows, ten lives aren't enough when working for the Foundation).
Three notes, three benefits, three rewards!
Good! This system had some sense to it after all.
At this point, Ethan was too exhausted to even begin to complain.
