Chapter 148: The Cycle of Life and Death

The snake took a bite out of the cover, and a rather large one considering its size. Once the snake was done with the first bite, it pressed its head into the newly-created hole, seemingly trying to continue eating it. With each new bite it took, its body disappeared within the book more and more, before it soon disappeared completely.

"..." Lynol looked down at the book that he was holding and then turned toward Foster, "...Did it ever do something like this before?"

"If it had, I'd have told you... In the first place, artifacts aren't something you see that often, right?" He replied quickly, before letting out a deep, annoyed groan. He didn't particularly care that much about what the snake was doing, it was just that he hadn't expected it at all. And judging from the message that had popped up earlier, this book was clearly the exact item that he needed.
