Chapter 32: Jango Fett

Topica City was a small place. Several platforms away was Slave One, and standing beside it since the arrival of the mysterious Scimitar, was Jango Fett. One of the most badass bounty hunters and True Mandalorians in the Galaxy. Technically, he was the last of the True Mandalorians alive.

Having used his range finder to watch the trio go inside, greeted by the Prime Minister of the Ruling Council, he would move his gaze towards the 'Mandalorians' surrounding the ship in a semi-circle.

He spent several minutes observing each one individually. They were all around the same height, same build. They were different than the ones that had gone inside whom were dressed similarly. Though these 'Mandalorians' had a strange plastic vibe to them.

It didn't take long for Jango to notice that those whom he was watching were indeed not moving at all. They were like statues in a wax museum which rubbed him the wrong way. These droids were clearly packing, using unidentified rifles and vibroswords as their secondary weapons. They were clearly trained in the art of close quarters combat, especially with those melee weapons at their disposal.

"They're not breathing." Jango made his first verbal observation, as if he was rather annoyed and disappointed. These were not clones, and these were not people coming for another visit. "Droids," he zoomed in as he could definitely see there was no simulated breathing, not human reflex.

One of the droids was looking right at him, but it didn't react to his presence. It was as if they already knew he was there.

Jango paused, they knew he was here? Why would they know he was here?

He thought back to when Dooku had strangled his former Jedi Padawan through the force after Jango had bested her. He was given another deal after being payed five million credits. They wanted him to be the primary candidate for a cloning gig.

"Could these be affiliates? Or just customers..." It was clear this badass bounty hunter was curious. They were droids, though he doubted they were Protocol Droids that would give him information freely. "Lets get a closer look."

Using his jetpack, Jango fought against the wind to land on the Scimitar's platform. All of the Mandalorian impersonating droids turned to look at him and moved into a semi-circle, blocking his path to the ship.

"Jango Fett," A modulated voice came from one of the droids, it sounded like a Mandalorian born warrior. "It is a pleasure to see you on Kamino." The center droid made a light gesture, a bow of the head. "You are the last of the True Mandalorians."

Jango's brows furrowed, they didn't know just where he was, but they knew who he was. Well, he did have quite the reputation, he couldn't deny that. "Do you want this to be the luckiest day of your life…or the last?"

He spouted one of his famous lines as he drew his pistols, but didn't yet raise them.

"Who is your employer?" Jango went with the ruse that they were employed by whomever owned them.

"Someone who will help you eliminate Death Watch before it resurrects itself again..." The Droid droned out an answer as if it wasn't very amused by the threat of being killed by Jango Fett.

Jango Fett glanced towards the transparent door which the Trio had gone through. "Someone who will help...?" He had already hunted down the leader of the Death Watch after the rest of the True Mandalorians had fallen. "What do you mean resurrect?"

"Pre Vizsla will resurrect the Death Watch with the help of Count Dooku in a decade from now." The droid seemed to have a large amount of information, this made Jango rather curious. Was this planned? He narrowed his eyes and looked the droid over once more.

Jango used the tip of his blaster pistol to knock the helmet off of the Commando Droid which was in front of him. He didn't recognize the design as something he had seen before, but it was similar in architecture to that of a B1-series Battle Droid.

His gaze went towards the other droids whom were just standing there, not responding to what he had just done. Did he not register as a hostile after smacking the helmet off? Though now he knew that he clearly couldn't trust Dooku, at least not for the time being. He wasn't going to stop the Kaminoans though, he had already been paid and he wanted a son.

"What is your purpose here?" Jango would inquire.

"To guard the ship." The answer was almost automatic.

"What is your master's purpose here?" Jango gave another query, curious of how it would answer this time. This was different from dealing with a protocol droid. He already figured that the droid would try to mislead him or tell him something he didn't exactly ask.

"Unknown," The droid stated as it had to 'think' for a short period of time. Apparently it hadn't been informed of why it was here, or why its master was here.

That was where the questions ended and he simply nodded slightly, feeling a bit off. "Seems like you were only given information that was readied for me." Jango looked towards the door as he began walking towards it. He wanted to speak with this new arrival.

'The one female figure walked like a spoiled royal. The other two seemed like force users.' Jango thought to himself as he recalled the three that had entered. As soon as he did enter though, he glanced around and made his way through the corridors. He followed the echoes and vibrations displayed on his hub to find the trio with the Prime Minister.

He continued to watch them as he holstered his pistols. They didn't walk like Jedi, so they weren't with the Order. They didn't walk anyway similar to Dooku either, so they weren't within that ego-centric group.

'The leader of the group seems to be keeping his head lowered.' Folding his arms over his chest piece of his chassis, he made his way towards the group and quietly walked behind them.

Princess Leia glanced over at him with her big blue eyes, only before looking towards Valad, a curious expression on her face as she just noticed him walking with his eyes closed.

Valad wasn't blind, he could feel the energy of the man's helmet since the hub was active. Opening his eyes, he gave Leia a light gaze before turning his head to see Jango Fett. "Oh?"

"Don't 'Oh' me," Jango Fett sneered as he let one arm fall to his side and the other point at Valad as if persecuting him of something. "Who are you with, who do you serve?" He asked with a determined tone.

"My self." Valad gave a simple reply, he started to give a tone resembling that of the droids outside, much to Jango's chagrin.

Jango fixed his jaw slightly. "You're not a part of a fancy order of dependents?"

Valad shook his head to the question and blatantly stared through the man. The Prime Minister was just watching this going on. The tour wasn't even complete, and yet their temporary resident was getting into a conversation with the newest arrival?

"I meant what I said before," Valad informed, speaking of the Droid outside. As if he had been speaking through it. Though he wasn't. It was just predetermined information he wanted given to Jango should he approach the droids.

Jango slowly nodded. "You gave me all the information I need," He said in response, opening and closing his fist of his right hand. His hub outlined Valad's face, it came to a match and information came scrolling down the right side of his visor.

He was the subject to the one time bounty from the Magister of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. Though the bounty had been pulled, it made him curious of what this kid did to get on the bad side of the Magister of an interstellar banking organization.

"Good luck with your son," Valad stated; causing the badass bounty hunter to tense up slightly. Was it common knowledge that he was going to have himself cloned? Or did this kid have all this information?

Jango nodded lightly to himself, figuring this was why there was that one time bounty on the kid. He knew too much and the clan was trying to test him. 'Nice... Seems like your lucky day.' Jango brushed passed Valad and disappeared into a nearby corridor connecting to another part of the city.
