Chapter 52: Destroyers Defense

"They're leaving," Fay reported to the man who she had placed herself by. She didn't sound like she regretted anything, even leaving the Jedi Order. However that was just because she had made a choice. Follow the Order or Follow the Force. She chose the latter, abandoned the former.

Smiling softly as he heard this, Valad was standing on the bridge looking over at the holographic projection of the former Jedi Master. His demeanor seemed clam, nothing out of the ordinary. "I'm guessing they're going to go an report to their High Council?" He was expecting this, he wanted this. Chaos and turmoil was the only place the Jedi could exist, otherwise they'll pull each other apart.

Plus, if they know the sith have a grip over the senate, they are likely to be discreet. Unless Windu tries to take things into his own hands without waiting for the rest of the Council. It was all his fault Order 66 happened when it did.

Shaking his head slightly, he looked towards the space surrounding the massive vessel he now called home for the time being. He opened the shop interface for his own skills and began scrolling through it. He didn't bother ending the transmission and it didn't seem as if Fay minded. It looked like he was just staring at her, but she didn't feel the normal lust he had given he to perceive.

Instead there was just admiration in its place, had he been egging her on with these desires and emotions? She knew he could control his emotions to a degree and even completely make his presence disappear. He even had Force Resistance which would stop her from reading his emotions, but he just didn't use it.

Had he just been trying to get a reaction out of her? Make her uncomfortable? He wanted to see how far she would go, it seems. The Jedi Master let her mind fill with thoughts pertaining to the boy. He was definitely a curiosity to the force.

She closed her eyes and retained her meditative posture, the world around her slowly cleared away. It was her escape from everything but the force. The voices, so pleasant and calming.

As he scrolled through the force abilities section of the shop, he would come across the ability known as Teleportation, an ability Vaylin's father very much happened to use. It was a rather annoying feat should other people have it.

Purchasing the technique, he assumed he was going to have to use it eventually in the coming days of war. That and if he wanted to visit someone without having to wait, this was one way to achieve it.

A grin formed over his lips as he felt the warmth uncompass him, the knowledge seeping into his mind. The technique was completely engraved into his being, as if it was now part of him.

He took in a deep breath and then shakily released. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back before opening them again as he stared at Vaylin who was now holding the sides of his head and staring at him while he was 'upside down.'

"Hi there," Vaylin said with a brow raised slightly, staring into his eyes. "What'cha doin'?"

Turning to face her as he took his head out of her grasp, before his neck or back could break from bending in the wrong direction. "Thinking, planning." He closed one eye and stared through her, reaching out and gently caressing her jawline with his fingers.

She turned a light shade of pink when she felt his touch, she tilted her head down a bit as she grasped his hand. A small smile of her own forming.

He then turned around and looked out the viewport, his hand grasped in hers, he brought her to his side. Their eyes focused on the small cruiser which left the hangar and after clearing the planet's shadow mass and natural gravitational field, jumped into hyperspace.

Valad's eyes however centered back onto the split which went along the hull for several kilometers, and itself was two kilometers in width. He selected the ship part of the shop, selected star destroyers.

He knew the planet needed a defense. So the first thing he decided to do was use his favorite element, surprise. He selected for three Chiss Star Destroyers to be built. Each one was between nine hundred meters and one thousand meters. They were highly capable of destroying other capital class ships and had plenty of room in their hangars for fighters.

These vessels were equipped with cloaking devices, megamasers and various other weapons which by far makes the known galaxy weak in comparison. Though they'd be weak against a large concerted fighter assault, it was unlikely that they'd be bested with their number of clawcraft fighters.

These vessels came in a similar form as the Victory Class Star Destroyer used by the Galactic Republic during its waning years of the Clone Wars and later by the Empire and Galactic Alliance. It's hull was long and sleek, giving it a needle like appearance and lacked a command superstructure like the typical Imperial design, keeping the enemy from getting an easy target.

Personally he thought this design was more effective than the Empire's Imperial Star Destroyer series and was better armed than the later models of the Star Destroyer unless he want to go extremely far into the technological prowess of the Legends continuum.

Valad didn't think it'd be a good idea to introduce so much amazing tech in the first place.

Thanks to his system, it didn't take months or weeks for the ships to be created. The Fabrication Section was using what was known as a 3D Printing System, from demolecularized resources which had been brought through the use of the system. Piece by piece the three destroyers began to come into existence within the center of the split at a rapid pace. To many onlookers it would look like a line of light was creating a vessel from thin air.

Vaylin who hadn't really been paying attention glanced down and blinked a few times. When did those get there? How were they being built so fast? She stared at it as she reached out with the force for an explanation.

The answer was strange. This technology was immense, heavily influenced by something unknown. It felt like the distortion which had found her in that isolated room on her father's homeworld. She shivered slightly and looked over at him, seeing Valad smiling.

He knew exactly what was going on, exactly how it worked. It was written all over his face.

...

A few days later the ships were in standard orbit of the planet in a V formation. The ships were given a full complimentary crew of retrofitted Commando Droids and sentient overseers.

When Leia had found out that he was creating a defense grid for the planet without any delay, she found herself ordered to form a defense committee. The people themselves were happy about the idea. Defending themselves meant they would never had to be enslaved again!

Anyone who had any technological or militant knowledge would join the Aquilaean Self Defense Force (ASDF), in order to ensure that they remained in peace. This soon followed with the formation of the Aquilaean Commerce Guild and the creation of the first Shipyards of New Aquilae.

Valad had begun to deploy a massive undertaking to create a planetary net, one which was far superior to that of Naboo's. At the same time he emplaced a planetary shield which was much like the one the Galactic Empire would have used on Scarif.

In order for people to come and go off the planet, he also secured a Shield Gate on the planetary shield, managed from the planet surface rather than the station itself. Should the station be destroyed, the shield would be closed once again until shutdown.

This shielded the planet from being scanned by conventional sensors. Even a composite beam would have a problem firing through it as long as the shield remained up and fully powered.

...

Valad was sitting in the gymnasium area of the Star Dreadnought. It had just been repurposed from a storage room and into something more useful for the time being.

His hands rested on his knees and his eyes were closed. He listened to the children playing and training with Master Fay as well as some PROXY Droids he had purchased through the system that had intimate knowledge pertaining to the Jedi Arts and various other skills.

Each of these PROXY droids took on the guises of scholars from the past, as well as various Ancient Jedi. This had originally bewildered that of Fay when she was introduced to the droids, but nonetheless agreed to work beside them.

The children were learning quickly, especially that Aku Clan which Ahsoka was present in. The child who used to be a youngling of the Jedi Order seemed to also be rather useful. He was already disciplined in the basics, yet hadn't mastered them just yet.

"Three destroyers, two defense pads, one shield gate..." He muttered to himself aloud as he began to think of what else he could give this planet. This was his first planet, not counting Naboo which had a very strong and confident Queen.

Opening his eyes partially he looked over towards the being who was now casting a shadow over him, obstructing the light. It was Vaylin who was staring down at him.

"So this is where you were..." Vaylin huffed as she squatted down and hugged her knees watching him star over at her. "You seem to be trying to focus on everything, but yourself, ever since I've met you."

She wasn't lying, when he focused on himself, he generally suffered a bit. He was always reminded of the past whenever he found romantic feelings towards someone.

Sexual frustration was a given, he allowed himself to let it out with Vaylin, abide he was much gentler than he could have been.

His eyes slowly glanced away from her however, wanting to think of something else. Yet because she spoke of it, pointed out how he had been acting, he was slowly becoming weaker to her.

"When things bother me, my mother would talk with me. Well, she'd force me to tell her what was wrong." Vaylin said with a giggling voice, hopping closer to him as she remained squatted. Though Vaylin had begun to hate her mother, she still had the vibrant memories, the ones she cherished.

She wanted to get to know him for him, not just as her savior. At the same time she wanted to know of his past, why he was the way he was.

She could clearly sense the first Apprentice wanted to know the same.

Valad's face darkened at the word Mother. "You want me to talk about myself?" His tone was smooth, his eyes gazed over her face. Reaching over, he would carefully touch her cheek, taking in the sensation of her warmth with his cold hands.

"What else would I want you to talk about?" She made a smug expression on her lips, her eyes darting over at the children, then back to him. "How about we go somewhere to talk in private?" Vaylin said, knowing if he wanted to talk, he might want it all to be confidential.
