Chapter 1: Life Simulator

"Heard the news? The rift erosion has worsened recently..."

"Yeah, the alley next to the Goethe Hotel has been sealed off, and rift creatures are wandering there day and night... Damn, if the main force hadn't been deployed to the front lines, this would be nothing!"

In the upper district of Belobog, at Klipperfort, the Silvermane Guards on duty were chatting:

"Tell me about it. It's a shame we're the only guards left, standing watch and patrolling all day. I wish I could go to the front lines with Captain Gepard..."

"Standing here all day without moving, I feel like I'm turning into one of the Everwinter Monoliths... Guarding this place is pointless; they might as well put up some statues and send us to the front lines."

The young guard complained, addressing the silent squad leader beside him:

"Don't you agree, Captain?"

"You're right, but I find guarding more appealing. Don't you think being a guard at Klipperfort really brings out your life's value?"

Ron replied lazily, leaning against the wall and pulling down his standard helmet:

"It's like skipping several years of detours."

"But Captain, don't you want to make a name for yourself and contribute to protecting Belobog?"

The young guard continued to persuade Ron but then heard a faint snore coming from under Ron's helmet.

Noon in Belobog was the warmest time of the day; the sun would slightly dispel the biting cold of this Everwinter city, making it perfect for a nap.

Seeing Ron so lazy, the young guard walked away dejectedly, muttering that Ron was truly an oddball.

However, Ron wasn't always like this.

In the past, Belobog had great demons in the mountains and... oh, wrong script.

That year, Ron was an ordinary gamer. Just before the public test of Honkai: Star Rail, he was hit by a train out of nowhere and transported to this world.

Initially, he was full of ambition, thinking no danger in this world mattered because his protagonist halo as a transmigrator would make everything trivial.

Even if an Aeon stood before him, Ron would dare say, "In my eyes, you are all mere chickens and dogs, selling yourselves short!"

But after a year of surviving in Belobog and barely becoming a Silvermane Guard squad leader as the most meritorious rookie, Ron realized one thing:

"You're right, but Honkai: Star Rail is a new 3D adventure-themed turn-based strategy game independently developed by miHoYo. The game is set in the depths of the galaxy, where those chosen by the Aeons embark on a journey of destiny, wielding the power of the Imaginary."

"You will play as a mysterious being carrying the Stellaron, journeying with companions to resolve the Stellaron crisis... So, what role does Ron play in this?"

He's just a bright, sunny young man. What does any of this have to do with him?

The Stellaron crisis in Belobog might be resolved by the Trailblazers, but a mere Ron could never make any waves.

If anyone didn't understand the difficulty of resolving this Stellaron crisis, Ron would have to open his notebook—

OK, first up is the high guardian Cocolia Rand, guilty of arrogance.

Dragging those wretched Builders and Silvermane Guards into battles with rift creatures, barely holding the line, only to smile arrogantly and then get bewitched by the Stellaron, sealing off the upper and lower districts of Belobog. The rifts have even reached Klipperfort.

Secondly, guilty of... oh, there's no secondly, just Cocolia is enough.

The cold snap and the rifts have always been the two major problems for Belobog's survival. The Builders researched deeply into this but achieved nothing useful.

Finally, a researcher found the right direction, but Cocolia dismissed it as forbidden research and replaced them with Sila.

Sila, a genius in research, is now only playing rock music and crafting in her mechanical workshop, having no chance to uncover the truth about the Stellaron.

How many researchers have they changed over the years?

Any changes? None. It's just old wine in a new bottle.

Cocolia never intended to save Belobog... She's even laughing!

Upon realizing this, Ron became thoroughly enlightened.

Fine, I'll slack off!

He's just an ordinary Silvermane Guard. If even the high guardian doesn't want to save Belobog, why should he worry?

Slacking off it is.

Since then, Ron's quality of life skyrocketed. He'd nap on the job, do whatever he wanted when no superiors were around, and never worried about pointless tasks.

Of course, although Ron slacked off, he didn't entirely waste away in Belobog...

As a glorious transmigrator, he had a golden finger to save him!

This system appeared when he first transmigrated, possibly due to poor signal in another world or not being a Huawei product. It took three years to load, finally nearing completion.

Three years have passed!

The Dragon King... even if he returned, he'd have to wait until after work.

Seeing the triple-turbine walking duck approaching Klipperfort, Ron immediately stopped slacking.

He stood straight, holding his axe and saluted the approaching silver-haired girl.

This indecently dressed, long-legged girl in black stockings, who severely affected the minds of Belobog's eligible young men, was the acting leader of the Silvermane Guards and heir to the high guardian, Cocolia Rand's designated successor—

Bronya Rand.

Although the girl had no ill intentions, her actions were swift and resolute, like a workaholic cat-eared girl from Liyue, and she was Ron's immediate superior. So Ron was afraid of being caught slacking.

Who could he complain to if his salary got docked?

But today, for some reason, Bronya, who usually greeted the guards, walked by in a hurry, ignoring their salutes.

Although puzzled, Ron was happy to be left alone.

Less interaction with the boss is better; it's an important rule for a peaceful work life...

Isn't it better to think more about the life simulation game? Ron was still looking forward to the system's return after three years.

However, what Ron didn't know was that just as he looked away, Bronya, who had just entered Klipperfort, found a secluded corner and awkwardly traced the air with her fingers.

The reason for this was the transparent panel floating before her—
