The derelict building loomed before us, its tattered drapes clinging to existence, swaying like souls in torment. A few had already given up the ghost and fallen, their descent so light that they scarcely made a sound.
"Looks like it smells like rotten eggs," Hans mumbled between bites of his burger. Louis appeared equally repulsed, although I couldn't discern if it was the unpleasant chewing sounds or the eerie building that unnerved him.
"Maybe there's a phone inside we can use to call them," Louis suggested.
"Why not try the E.Y.E? They tried reaching me through it before, but I didn't notice," I responded nonchalantly, shrugging. Louis furrowed his brow, evidently puzzled.
"How… the E.Y.E can't reach someone from that far away. Its range is limited to ten miles," Louis explained.
"Perhaps they used some tricks?" I speculated.
"Maybe E.Y.E informed them," I continued.
