Edol had already heard about how getting fame could increase the power of legacies. He had already looked into how he could improve his own spellcrafting, and this was one such method. He wasn't sure how well it would work for himself- the already minuscule starting amount would increase by factors of itself.
For example, looking at a life element legacy.
If someone could create one potato with their legacy, then they gained x amount of fame, they could then grow two potatoes.
If they started out with a stronger legacy, though, say one that could create two potatoes, after gaining fame, they would be able to grow four instead.
This said, there was a limit. If it continued on like this continuously, the most powerful legacies would likely snowball out of control and become all-powerful after being passed down a few generations.
