Chapter 32: Challenge Of The Past II

The scenery of a cozy and small room was unveiled before Avery, there was not much to the room, besides the ancient feeling, the furniture was old and even the glass windows had cracked, the whole place was scattered as though someone had gone on a rampage.

Ahead of her sat a woman in front of the fireplace on a rocking chair.

"..." She wanted to raise her axe but found nothing in her hands. The atmosphere got tensed, backed up with suspects as she anticipated what was going to happen or what to do.

"They blame me for all the things I have done, but they taught me to be this way. Days I was forced to watch my father's officers administer cruel and gruesome tortures to people. They taught me to be satanic and without mercy, they taught an epileptic lady to hate and deliver Wrath into the world. Took away the only man I ever loved and my dear child but they say 'what monster have you become? who made you like this? where did you come from...? The only thing I regret is not being able to protect my maids, that gave me all and killed for my sake." She giggled and her hand slowly dropped.

Avery summoned the courage to walk further and to her front. "...is this your most painful moment, the moment of your death? What could you have done to deserve such a lonely death?" She said while looking around and another door appeared before her.

She naturally opened and entered into it but the scenery that she saw this time was not pleasant.

Screams and shouts, burnings and disorder as the same person she seems to just have seen brutally and repeatedly stabbed down a young girl. Not just that, she killed everyone and anyone she laid her eyes on, it was a dark and gloomy night, Avery found it very hard to believe this was the person she saw a while ago.

Another door appeared as she was almost about to puke at the sight of bloodshed she saw.

"Elizabeth Bathory and her servants are accused of killing a total of six hundred and fifty women and young girls. I shall now pass my judgement. Her maids are to be brutally beheaded in the middle of the town while Elizabeth Bathory is to be confined till death"

A wooden hammer was hit on a table thrice and everyone began to disperse, she could tell exactly what it was even though she had not been to one before and even though the one she was witnessing was explicitly different from the one in her world.

"Her courtroom, she murdered six hundred and fifty women and young girls?" The surprised Avery was struck by a state of quandary as she watched the woman of topic laugh out loud while she was being escorted out of the courtroom. She suddenly let out the puke that she has been repeatedly holding as she stood.

~Whooom~

She was suddenly driven through multiple black entrances and finally found herself in front of a pair of tall black metallic doors.

She looked up and suddenly heard footsteps, she quickly swung backwards the axe which she discovered immediately was back in her hands.

"Whooops" Knight Trey jumped backwards dodging the swing.

"Easy, easy my lady, it must not have been an interesting memory you saw." He said after seeing Avery's distorted and tired face, she was looking like she wanted to vomit her throat out, her veins were popping out and her upper head was getting red.

Simeone grabbed her shoulder and gently slapped her back forcing out her vomit.

~Bleeeeeegggh~

She let it all out.

"I knew it from when we kept seeing corpses, the owner of this dungeon is probably a messed up serial killer," Trey said.

"But anyway, the treasure room has revealed itself which means the vassal weapon accepted her., Marrok said, looking up at the tall gate.

'...Ah, the treasure room, what do I do about these guys... Weird, I'm suddenly reminded of the crest that brat gave me.'

Meanwhile...

The speed at which we travelled so far has been endurable but when I think of buses or cars, it was still far behind. Or should I try getting some really fast horse? there are some breeds of horse that are considered very fast. Since father is a beast tamer shouldn't he have a speed kind beast that we can use as horses?

I filled my mind will all sorts of thoughts and wonders while travelling, while an unfamiliar enemy laid in ambush, nor that I cared anyway.

"Ah, I think it's time..." I said suddenly, as I looked at the metallic stopwatch in my hand while laying on the couch like seat of the chariot.

"Are we going now?" Anastasia who was laying on my chest suddenly sprang up with excitement.

"Yea sure." I replied to her, "Teleportation." I said, snapping my fingers.

A gold-coloured magic circle appeared around me and as it ran down my body, my body disappeared.

A scenery, unlikely and unpleasant unveiled before my eyes, this wasn't how it was supposed to be. I looked down only to find the crest I had given her on the disgusting corpse of the undead. I had to pick my stuff anyway, it was slimy and very irritating.

"How could she be so clumsily and lose what was supposed to serve as a navigation for my teleportation., I complained after picking the crest.

~Whoosh~

The tip of his sword stopped right in front of me as if being blocked by invisible air. He pulled back and stepped back.

"Identify yourself," he shouted after jumping back, it was very dark for anyone to tell anything apart but it was admirable how he was able to attack exactly where I was. He's one that cannot be stooged, a Knight this strong and I haven't met him.

"Ardor"

With a soft call of its name from my chest, the golden liquid armour began to sip out of my chest and spread over my body, over my clothes and even my face, leaving only my hair. After spreading it thickened. The face mask it gave me left two circles opening for my eyes but it wasn't my eyes that could be seen from it, it was a bright red colour that filled the opening. I could see clearly but the red light also filled my vision. Ardor's ability was beyond defence and I was discovering it.

The tightness of the armour was not uncomfortable, the extreme hardening did not limit my flexibility. I could feel the thin layer of the extremely hard armour, it was truly a magnificent creation.

As I tightened my fist and got ready for some action, red sparks began to fly around my body.
