Chapter 23: A Thief in the night
"Wait, did you really make this with a dragon heart? You?" I asked him, very surprised.
"Not just dragon heart, dragon heart was used as the powering house but more importantly dragon scales, Shrax: a demonic plant that has regenerative properties and Pumttite, a hard metallic mineral that has replication properties."
"Demonic plant...?" Ah, I forgot about demons, the demon lord must exist here too, I thought upon hearing the word.
"Ah, that's a plant from Wettes: the demonic continent"
These guys seemed to have dedicated a whole continent to the demon kind.
"It is a very complex armour young Lord, you can't have this."
"Huh? Why not?" 'I'm definitely exercising my young Lord's authority on this one'.
"We must get it at all cost. At all costs, this will protect your body until you have fully mastered my powers. With this, no attack can penetrate you. We must get it." Anastasia kept shouting into my ear. Thank God I was the only one that could hear her but I was beginning to wish I wasn't, I wanted them to see her desperation too.
"Because it fuses with the user, many people lost their lives trying to make it a success so it has quite a malicious intent. Plus the resentment of the dragon heart kills the body. Even if you successfully fuse with it which I doubt will be possible you will die after a year at maximum and if after coming in contact with it, it refuses to fuse with your body, you die. Hence it is too dangerous to risk. I can't give you this."
Either way, I die... I think I'll seat this one on that.
"That's because all the people that have been trying before now do not have the body it needs."
'Anastasia, what do you mean again?'
"Goshujin think about it, a dragon heart in a human body, it's like giving a human heart to a rat, it will die regardless. But you are different, your body is different. And about the malicious intent, you can overpower that with your will, the resentment however, I'm sure there's a reason for it. We can find that out after fusing with it."
'Anastasia, that's a lot of risks to take, what if I die?'

That word, trust... It was something I couldn't afford before, but ever since getting to Ceria. I seemed to have lots to spare.
'Even so, they will never let us have it. The Duke won't agree, the duchess won't agree, nobody will agree.'
"Then we'll steal it, we can deal with the aftermath after fusing with it." She said, grinning and laughing aloud, evilly.
"Young lord, you can put in a request for something special. I will make it but this, you can't have." He said.
My countenance fell, I had to show and express my sadness so I wouldn't be suspected before my act if theft happens. For some reason, Avery kept looking at me like she was checking if I was really sad. I was sad, I wish we could have just done this the easy way.

"I heard of your request from Orel"
'It hasn't even been an hour and he already heard.' I couldn't say anything, there was no certain reply for him in my mouth.
"We can always create something you like. But that thing is a no." He said, his serious tone which I've forgotten began to make me fear the consequences of what I planned to do.
"Yes, Father," I said.
"No, Father," Anastasia said, sticking her tongue out towards him.
Afterwards, all four of us silently ate dinner and afterwards proceed to bed.

"Goshujin..."
I'm getting used to being awakened in the middle of the night, she didn't even need to call thrice. I sluggishly rose and moved towards the window.
"Ana..."
"Don't even think about it."
"Ah, I forgot you can read my mind."
"We have to go through with this."
"Ana, he will get really mad if I do it."
"But he will also come to see your potential, besides we don't have to let him know."
"That's impossible, you think that thing will be stolen and no one will know."

"Yea, sure, I didn't" I replied to her and changed to a black outfit with a hooded cloak. Dressed just like an assassin.
"If we were going to do it anyway why were you being a puxxy."
"Ana?! You did not just call me a..."
"Ah, yeah, I didn't..."
"I'm going to disown you..." I said to her as I opened the window and carefully looked.
"This height is no joke, I can't-"
~Whoosh~
Before I knew it, with a force from behind my body swept through the coldness of the night wind and slammed to the floor.
"Ah, ah, I think I broke my face."
"Goshujin, stop exaggerating, your body is durable enough to handle this much."
"Why would you push me?"
"Stop whining."
"I'm not whining" Both of us bickered as I made my way out of the main lord quarters.
<They forgot me>
I had Siegfried in my hand but even at this point, I had not realized I fell without him.
~whoosh~
The patrol Knight swiftly turned as he felt a rush of wind pass him, "Who's there...?" He said and looked around. After confirming there was no one. He returned to his dozing.
Getting past the knights was not an issue for me, I had a nimble body and a very fast step. I miss the boss every morning so I'm quite used to running very fast, you might not believe this, late office workers or students actually might. When you run to a particular extent because of lateness, your legs begin to move quite fast without your head compromising. You know just like how pianists can play really fast and not get confused. It's years worth of muscle memory.
And of course, this is a new body, but with my mind already used to it, it only took one week to build such muscle memory. That is why I love this body, it buys hard work at a cheap price.
It wasn't long before I was at the smithy. I expected the large front door to be locked but for some reason, it was unlocked.
"All works well for me, I'll just knock out whoever I meet there and steal it," I said, slowly opening the door and squeezing myself to get inside.
Upon reaching inside, it was dark, with no movement, contrary to what I expected, since the door was opened I expected there to be at least one person working. I looked up at the upper floor and for some reason, I was tempted to do this.
I crouched and softly added strength to my lower body, then leapt. Like a bouncing ball, I was projected straight into the upper floor.
It shocked me, I stood my legs apart and was surprised at my agility.
But I had no time to waste hence, I ran forward to my destination...
I came to a horrifying halt at the sight of who was waiting for me...
Holy shit! How come I didn't predict this was going to happen?
