Chapter 18: Ep.18 A Debt That Must Be Repaid In Blood
While scarlet stared at Mike in disbelief her and Mike heard Scarlets phone ring with the caller being Violet and hastily answered to hear violet say
"Sister! Are you safe, I heard the dungeon grew to B-Rank"
Scarlet just said as she started rubbing her temples
"We're fine, we didn't suffer any injuries or anything like that but are you and Mr.Grames at the guild Headquarters?"
Mike and scarlet heard Gideon screaming in the background as Violet said
"Yeah, we've been here talking for a while"
Mike noticed Raiu shaking in his sleeve a little and said to scarlet as he started rubbing Raiu's head
"My presentation will have to wait as I have a score to settle"
Scarlet knew what Mike meant and said
"Mike, I say this as a friend but I know he hurt you and your familiar but he comes from a powerful family backing and you don't need to be a target for them"
Mike slammed his fist on the table and said as he gave scarlet a stone cold look
"I don't care, I will never forgive myself if I don't do anything for what had happened"
Scarlet let out a sigh and said
"I already had planned to exile him from the guild and will report him to the hunters initiative for misuse of his powers and Hunters code violation"
Mike felt compelled to take action on his own but remembered that there's always a bigger fish in the sea that he swims in and sat down and heard scarlet say as he hung up on violet
"I will do what I can to make sure he is punished for his actions"
Mike got up and said before he left the tent to go home
"I hope you do… for his sake"
As Mike started walking down the street he heard the system say
[Dear host, please do not seek any unnecessary fights and continue to improve your status]
Mike passed a corner and said in his mind as he noticed some people glaring at him
'I will have anyone who causes me problems or makes me feel like a fool pay for it tenfolds over'
Mike was just passing a smoothie shop before he ordered a mango smoothie and was waiting in line when he heard a lady say next to him
"Personally I prefer the strawberry shortcake smoothie with some whip cream on the top"
Mike paid no attention to the women as he didn't think she was talking to him and continued walking after he had grabbed his smoothie before he heard the same women say
"Hey wait up!"
Mike continued to ignore the woman and as he stopped at a crosswalk waiting to cross he saw the woman wave her hand In front of mikes mask saying
"Hey, anyone in there? Hello?"
Mike turned his head to see a slightly familiar woman with blue hair staring at Mike as he was waiting to cross and said
"What do you want I'm not in the best mood for games"
The woman took a sip of her own smoothie that she had bought and said as she continued to follow Mike down the street
"I'm just curious on why scarlet and violet Goldren would be interested in a man like you"
Mike stopped as they were passing a park and said as he turned to the woman
"Your from the blue phoenix guild? Sorry but my business with the Goldren's is my own business and I don't even know your name"
The women sat down on one of the benches and said after taking a sip from her smoothie
"I'm Sam Boli, Leader of the blue phoenix guild and I have a question for you mister grant"
Mike took off the mask and said while looking at Sam in the eyes
"And that would be?"
Sam pulled out a photo of him and scarlet entering the tent together on her phone and said
"Are you dating her? I've never known scarlet to take such an interest in a man like you before"
Mike let of a sigh of annoyance and said as he started walking away
"I don't have time for games, just go away"
Sam put her phone away and started following Mike again and said
"I'm being serious, scarlet has been known for her disgust for men for years"
Mike finished his smoothie and said as he put in it the trash
"Once again it's not your concern, now go away"
Sam pulled another photo of Mike leaning against the lamp post and said
"You got beat up pretty bad by Gideon, he always had a problem with his ego"
Mike balled up his fists and said
"What do you want from me"
Sam smiled and said as she put her phone away and pulled out a piece of paper
"Join my guild, if scarlet and her brute of a sister are so interested in you then you meant be quite a special man"
Mike took the paper and said even though he had no intention of joining a guild and would prefer to make his own in the future
"And what would I get in return? My services aren't cheap"
Sam finished her smoothie and said as she burned the cup to ashes with a pale blue flame from her palm
"I will offer you resources for your growth, a steady income and revenge on Gideon Grames for the humiliation that he has caused you"
Mike just tore the document in half and said
"Sorry lady, I don't intend on being a lackey or anything like that and I don't trust stalkers like you and Violet"
Sam felt disappointed and pouted for a moment and handed Mike a card with a blue phoenix on it with a phone number and said before she disappeared from a pale blue flame from before
"Fine but my offer is on the table whenever you want to talk just give me a call"
After Sam had left Mike looked at the card and put it in his pocket before he continued on his way home
