Chapter 2: House of Aragon

Felipe Antonio Arboleda de Aragon Toro looked at the dead Jose Antonio Paez. He has a massive hole in his head, clearly dead.

"You mother fucker." Felipe said as he used his sword to poke the body more. He wants to make sure he is dead and that even if he rises from the dead, he cannot move his body.

His beef with the General is nothing personal; it is just ideological, it is just that he thinks another way that he thinks, but the difference is that he had enough power to do something about it. And that is a no-no.

Five years ago.

The Emperor, Luciano Jaime de Aragon, was before a junta alongside Simon Bolivar.

"The unification of Spanish Speaking America is essential for us to take on the Spaniards. It is us versus them, not us against us." Luciano said that as their leader, without even saying, he had the initiative to speak and act at every time.

"Emperor, Emperor, what kind of a joke are you making? You the Emperor is the same as making you the king! Replacing a shit with another shit!" Paez said, quite mad about it.

"Give it a rest! The French Kingdom, The United Kingdom, the German Empire and the Russian Empire have acknowledged us already! Why? Because of my noble house. You try to make them recognize us while us being a republic." The Emperor said he did not look like an emperor, more like a senator, one with strong views and unashamed of his words. "This is no longer an absolute monarchy but a constitutional empire."

After the battle of Waterloo, the French Empire turned into the French kingdom, putting a Bourbon king in power again. Thus, France was doing everything to stick it to the republican states like the United States. And, of course, the UK, a crucial part of their revolution, would instantly recognize their country and territory.

"I will not have the power. The Senate will have the power. This will be a semi-federalist, centralized government but to an extent alone. I will be the stone upon which this country will be built." The Emperor said as he looked around at the people inside an elegant room with all the windows open due to the midday heat. Even though Bogota has the fame of being a cold place, the midday heats could be pretty harsh when there is no airflow and inside a building made out of mortar and wood, which would serve as natural insulators, making it hotter than average.

"What part of the emperor having all military power says democracy?" The General asked.

"I have been funding this war almost by myself now, you could say I am the one behind this revolution, and with the help of the general bolivar, we have been able to liberate this empire, making it a stronghold for us to start fighting back against the vice royalties of Peru, Santiago and Rio de La Plata." The Emperor dogged the question as he manipulated the conversation.

"The same money you have is part of the stolen money that the Spaniards have been robbing us." The general fired back.

"My family has not been in power for hundreds of years, the kingdom that no longer exists was the start of my family. If you think more clearly, I have more claim to the throne of Spain than the Bourbon bastard on the throne at the moment. Plus, the fact that I am allowing you to speak to me in front of everyone is proof that I will not be a tyrant. I can't manage everything. I need help governing. I need help to bring this nation to the potential my son and I think it can achieve." The Emperor said while looking at the other members of the room.

The room has 66 members from Panama, Ecuador, Venezuela and Granada. The Emperor looked around and made the mannerisms of a Roman Emperor as he moved around to make eye contact with everyone present, or at least tried. It was practical, nonetheless. The majority groaned in approval of his words. People can easily be controlled like sheep when there is a good enough orator.

The General has his skills developed to speak in front of it, so he was able to miss essential opportunities to counteract the Emperor's arguments, so when he saw the majority groan in agreeing with the Emperor, he lost hope and just stayed silent.

Later after that meeting.

"Father, shall we kill Paez?" Felipe asked as he was alone back with his father. The relationship between father and son has been strengthened since Felipe began to show awareness of his surroundings. Felipe has been detrimental to the revolution's success at an early age, from financing decisions to political tips.

His maturity has given him enough say in politics and finances. His father has been trusting him. He has successfully made it through the many tribulations they have been through for most of a decade, even though most of that decade, Felipe spent in the United Kingdom, safely growing away from the savage sword of Napoleon.

"No, not yet, anyway. He will be a huge obstacle, but this is a young nation with less than a year of existence. If we want any power, it will later come, just like Napoleon, he was just a general, then rose into Emperor." Luciano explained as he moved through his papers. They have just amended the constitution. The whole process lasted five days, and he repeatedly tried to defend his power and his future power.

Paying money to the many influent characters and making promises would not solidify. Then again, what does it matter when the divine right of being an emperor is written on stone as part of a constitution? There will be a war before the constitution is changed.

"…" Felipe only stayed quiet. He calculated the chances of the empire surviving, and he knew the future. Still, he does not have a perfect memory nor knows what will happen after the changes he has created.

'Venezuela is too far… it's only natural they want to set up another camp. He has to go before he gets any chance.' Not that he has the ability to do anything. He is worst than a crown prince. He is a crown prince in a nation that doesn't know what direction it will go. In other words, he has no chance to do anything that is not through the hands of his father.

"Excuse me, father. I am thirsty."

"Yeah." The Emperor couldn't care less as he went through the many lists he had to act upon.

Felipe doesn't like to be followed, so he has no house-enslaved person or servant beside him. He also wants to go to the kitchen on his own.

As he arrived at the first floor of the government building, he heard something. He was distracted by it, so he followed and investigated. To his surprise, he saw the General groping a house slave.

"What do you think you are doing?" With his 21st-century morals still somewhat intact then, he was sickened by such a thing.

"Oh, it is only you, brat. Now, get out of here. Don't you see I am busy? It is terrible disrespect to put your nose in other people's affairs. The General said as the slave was already half naked and crying. That is the reality of the world, no justice for the weak.

"What did you just call me? I am the Emperor's son." He tried to act. They were in a pretty isolated part of the building.

He stopped his groping and threw the slave to the side like a broken doll and took his sword, and pointed to the crown prince as he got near him to where the blade was touching his face.

"Your family should have stayed in Spain or the UK or where ever the fuck you claim you come from. Spaniards like your dad are the problem, yet, you have sneaked into our business. Tell me, why should I not kill you and your father?"

"You can kill me, but you will be dead before you get to my father. Plus, I don't intend to make this public, leave, and this will not be spoken of, nor to my father. After all, no matter how stupid and a waste of a human you are, there is a common goal, we both want the independence of these lands. And unlike you, I am more mature than you." The 11 years old said he does not feel intimidated. He knows that as long as you are unfazed, the intimidation of the opponent will be inefficient. And so, he was correct.

The General withdrew his sword and began to move out, but not before he looked back and said: "You will be the doom of this country. You and your father are destined to fail."

After he left, Felipe fell on his butt as he breathed heavily.

--

Back to the present.

"It may be a bit personal," Felipe said as he began to play with the eyesockets of the General with his sword, making sure that he would not be able to use his eyes if he revived.

"But, I don't fucking care." He is in the middle of nowhere with a line 300 meters long full of bodies being taken out by blackbirds. No one will stop him from defiling his body. And even if they find out, they would not be able to do anything anyways.
