Chapter 140: Selection

After Philip had transformed into Doug and donned his attire, he turned to face Conrad with a request, "Can I borrow some of your orbs?"

Philip had long discovered that he couldn't use Doug's atmokinesis and pact distorter as they had been transformed and infused into an item, forever bound to Doug and inaccessible to others.

This marked the distinction between mentalists and dream citizens. While the former could use the orbs in their original form, the latter required the expertise of dream craftsmen to craft them into items. This was akin to how Doug transformed the atmokinesis orb into the right side lens of his eyeglasses.

"Sure," Conrad replied calmly. I'll give you three orbs, including that rare one. Consider it payment for all the help you've given to me and my sister." 

He gestured towards a pile of tallums nearby, adding, "Take one million tallums as well."
