Chapter 1: Lich Kings Heir

Warning: If you didn't read the synopsis this won't make any sense~

--- --- ---

In the streets of Central City, a parade was ongoing, celebrating the defeat of the lich king sans, unknown to the joyful citizens of the city, something dark was going on within the depths of the seeming bright city.

In a lab far underneath the sun's rays, a procedure was about to take place, the target of said procedure was a seemingly normal little girl, that is until you looked into her vibrant, yet dull blue eye. Her eyes were dead, like that of someone who was, well, dead. The white-haired little girl was covered in various bandages, including an eyepatch on her left eye due to a previous procedure. Although the injuries and bruises did stem from the previous procedure it was not from the procedure itself but rather the girl's resistance towards it.

The procedure the girl previously experienced was quite, inhuman. The 'doctors' had forced on and directly interfaced with the girl's soul link. The soul link was not connected to any external sources, the device being entirely within the user's system, however, directly interfacing with a soul link will allow the perpetrator to directly interfere with any souls within the link's jurisdiction, including the user's own soul. Using this method the 'doctors' completely wiped out the girl's souls, intending to shape her into a weapon of war. Little did they know this would ultimately lead to their failure.

As the girl continued to lay on a hospital-like bed the 'doctors' brought over a used soul link, in the shape of a bracelet. Soul Links are usually meant to stay with the user till death, although they can be removed with less, savory, means. This specific Soul Link was previously owned by the one who'd slain Sans, the lich king himself.

As they brought the Link up to the girl's own collar-like Soul Link, they used the device that was directly interfacing with the Link to transfer the fragments of the king's soul. As the liches soul is brought into and then merged into the girl something unexpected happens, the girl, 'dies'.

What actually happens, unknown to the 'doctors', is that a remanet of the king's consciousness had remained within the fragment, disgusted by their plans he interfered. Although he was the lich king, and he did despise them for what they had down to his brethren, what he despised, even more, was the harm of innocents and betrayal to your own kind. What he did to interfere was to give some of his race essences, what makes up and determines a beings race, to the girl, changing her into a human-lich hybrid, then he used a power he thought he'd never have to use, soul exchange. Using this power he exchanged the girl's empty soul, for an intact foreign soul.

As the girl was now half lich she seemed dead to any outsiders, which was half true. As her soul was not in a recoverable state, and his to broken to control himself, he instead opted to use both of their souls to exchange for a new one hopping for the best. As he had successfully interfered he finally let go of his consciousness, leaving a message behind for his heir, so to speak, allowing the newly exchanged soul to consume him.

As the 'doctors' witnessed the apparently failed procedure they were baffled as to how due to the fact that the girl's link read out a 100% affinity for undead souls, which should have erased any chance of a backlash during the merging process. Quicking checking the link, they saw that she was in fact dead and that the fragments were unable to be recollected.

Seemingly disappointed and depressed at their failure, they didn't bother to investigate any further, opting instead to get rid of the girl's body in a nearby chute, hoping that their superiors don't punish them too harshly for their blunder. Unknown to them just as they dropped her down the chute, her link bugged out, displaying a different soul's parameters, stating that the girl was in a half-alive half-dead state, seemingly stable.

--- --- ---

Underneath an unmarked and unnamed warehouse, there was a pit, a pit with lots of dead bodies, this pit is a dumpsite for the government's failed 'experiments'. Many of the ex-people, in the pit, were of young age, many being children.

As a janitor-looking man finishes disposing of this day's bath of corpses, he turns around and closes the door walking away, unbeknownst to him just as he closes the door a recently disposed of corpse blinks her eyes open before sitting up seemingly confused.

"Shouldn't I be dead... I mean my freezer overheated right in front of me and ble... why do I hear... Megalovania..."

She starts to look around trying to find the source of the noise only to realize that someone is grabbing her leg. Looking down she sees someone's hand on her leg, grabbing it and trying to pull it off, it succeeds, only too well as the arm seems to not be attached to anything, blinking a few times, she moves her free hand to rub her bleary eyes, clearing them up. As she looks around at the corpse mountain she had been previously resting on, she can only think one thing, with an ever blank expression on her face.

"Ah... how unfortunate."
