Chapter 18: Fighting a soul beast

When Weles said he has an announcement to make he appeared really happy and proud even, I think he is really excited to say this news. Weird for someone who is late to his own meeting.

Weles:"I have just reached rank 50 in soul power, meaning I can get another soul ring"

Gasps of surprise rang out from all of us, I myself am quite excited he said he can get another soul ring right? That means it's time to hunt a soul beast, and I'd love to get some action in that department.

Weles:"That's right and I want all of us to hunt for one, as you all know I may be a part of a clan but we don't have that much experts, and our only soul sage is quite sick" That last part was quite sad sounding.

Weles:"So the best way to get one for me is through your guys help, and hey it's not like I'm going to stay still when you guys will need a soul ring" It seems he finished speaking. Da Yi stood up after that little speech.

Da Yi:"Don't worry boss, we all know how busy you are and what you are doing to help all of us, no way we will leave you alone, and even if that happens I still bet you would be able to get an ideal soul ring!"

Weles:"Thanks, since I don't hear any objections I assume everyone is okay with it. If that's the case let's get ready to leave"

I went to change myself to more free clothes, it seems we will have a hard battle. While I was leaving I saw Weles hand something to sister Yuhe, but I didn't pay much attention to it. After 10 minutes passed everyone was ready to go.

Weles:"It seems everyone is done, good. While you were getting ready I already got the boats ready for departure"

All of us left the house but Weles was still speaking while we were walking

Weles:"As all of you know the sea is vast and there are multiple strong soul beasts, much more than on the surface, that's why it's extremely dangerous to depart there. But all of us also know that strong soul beasts have their own territory"

Weles:"But it so appears than one of these soul beasts was chased away from its territory, and it appears to be rampaging quite close to the towns waters, a few fishermen were killed already. It's natural that it needs to be killed, but as luck is its quite perfect for my 5th soul ring. The age seems to be from 20 thousand to 30 thousand"

Well now that was an info dump, but that's also good at least we won't wonder around aimlessly.

Weles:"That's all lets go on the boats now, YingYing you go with me, you are still a soul grandmaster so it's better if I keep you safe just in case."

I think that's a little but underestimating me but whatever I can't be bothered to start an argument.

Cai:"Okay"

There were two boats waiting for us at the beach, we quickly pushed them and entered the sea, I was on the left boat alongside me was, Weles and Yi hen, on the other boat was Yuhe, Da Yi and Da Er, as well as Hei Long. I think this set up is to protect Yuhe the only healing system soul master with us.

Da Yi and Da Er were the ones moving their boat. While Weles stood at the front of the boat looking out for attacks and the like, I and Yi Hen were the ones moving our boat.

The sea was quite calming, I really like the smell of the air here it's much more fresh and not dry at all. We were moving farther and farther from the shore until it was barely visible.

Weles:"Good it's about in this parts where the soul beasts appears around this parts, we should move around until we encounter it"

We were moving around the boat around going mostly to the left sometimes we would turn back, but overall we were getting away from the house even more than normally.

Suddenly Weles made a frown that got me really on guard, and it appears that I was right as everyone else did so too, and rightfully so seeing as what happened next.

Out of nowhere the water started to raise below our boat, Weles seemed to react fast as he waved his right hand and commanded the water elements to move us behind. Soon enough a pillar of water rushed out into the air from below the place we were at before.

Or not really it was a figure completely made out of water more than a pillar of one. As the figure was getting back down it was slowly turning back solid once it reached the water it stood on it but this time fully made out of flesh.

Everyone quickly summoned their martial souls everyone's soul rings were quite regular, yellow, yellow, and purple. Weles had a much more exquisite and impressive configuration yellow, purple, purple, and black rouse up from beneath his feet. I choose my Ice Brush to fight with so yellow and purple rouse up from below my feet.

Weles:"It came!"

The figure that attacked us appeared to be a horse, but obviously it wasn't a simple horse. It's hair was completely white in fact most of him was, even his eyes were nearly fully white. On the other hand its mane, tail and hooves appeared to be made out of water. It appeared to be an extremely ferocious and proud beast.

It was also intelligent, when he saw all of our soul rings it realised we are most likely a hunting party send out to get rid of it, it quickly turned around and tried to get away.

Da Er:"You aren't getting away!" He picked up a net from his boat and threw it while still holding one end of it. The net quickly shoot up, it seemed to be boosted by wind elements as there is no way for it to be going so fast otherwise, it even changed direction to catch the horse in it.

The other end went to Weles and he quickly caught it in his hands, Da Yi also caught his end probably to help his brother. So we and Yi Hen quickly went to help Weles and all of us started to pull the horse back. The horse seemed to want to turn back into water elements but it couldn't

Weles:"This rope isn't made of simple materials!"

The horse realised it cannot escape so it changed its objective to attack, It will fight to the death! The horse quickly looked at me and spotted only two soul rings so he really decided to get rid of the weakest link.

The water elements increased the horses speed in the sea immensely and it quickly appeared before me, he raised his front hooves and the water elements on them instantly became much denser and fiercer than before.

If it hit me it would also destroy part of the boat so Weles quickly used his control of the elements to move the boat, the hooves were getting closer and closer to me so I decided to jump out of the boat, obviously going into the sea is suicide so I froze the water instead of falling into it, the sea was pretty calm today thankfully so no waves destroyed my platform.

*BOOM* *Splash*it's hooves quickly hit the water and an extremely loud sound rang out because of it, some of the water even rose up. Damn it, that thing already got me separated from my comrades, curse that wretched thing.

Thankfully my comrades won't allow me to die here, Weles quickly used his martial souls water element control to blast the beast back a bit, getting this chance I quickly jumped back onto the boat. Yi Hen raised his hand with the scales up they were moving randomly up and down from all the wind.

Then his first soul ring lit up, the scales quickly got onto the same level and stopped moving entirely. A ball of golden light then expanded from it, until it enveloped all of us in it before disappearing. After that transparent golden chains shot out from it binding all of us in something like a web. Surprisingly to me it didn't bind my movements in any way, it's like they were only an illusion.

His second soul ring then lit up and the scales moved again as if something was placed on it, instantly after that I felt like I was lighter while the horse that recovered already and started to approach us became much more sluggish, so that's how his martial soul works impressive.

Weles then came off the boat and also stood on the water. Yi Hen than started to talk to me.

Yi Hen:"You know already that Weles was chosen because his martial soul was mutated, but it's not that simple, his mutation truly showed us that our clans martial soul has potential to truly evolve into an overlord of the seas"

Yi Hen:"You may ask why is that well it's quite special, it's like a fusion from both a tool and beast type martial soul, not only is it's power incomparable to what we had before, it's strength grows on the sea and the deeper inside of it we go."

The horse quickly changed into his water body and rushed at Weles, Yi hen's third soul ring lit up and I felt a bit stronger, that also means the horse is considerably weaker. Weles moved his right hand back and took a position for a punch, his body took on a blue hue while his third soul ring lit up, afterwards a vortex of water elements appeared in his right hand and the water beneath his and the horses feet started to twist and turn in unnatural ways.

The horses water body seemed to be disturbed and he started to turn back solid, soon enough his stomach was already fully manifested. At that moment Weles threw out a punch in the horses stomach. The vortex exploded and pushed the horse into the direction of the brothers boat, the shock from the attack made it fully manifest its normal form.

I decided not to just sit in place doing nothing so with my ice brush I quickly made an ice wall before its body could hit the brothers boat. The horses back crushed into the wall I made. The brothers quickly took this chance I made, on Da Er's hand wind element appeared all over it, while Da Yi's was covered by fire.

Both of them punched out at the wall at the same time, the wind and fire elements both supported, fused, and enhanced each other. A spinning pillar of flames shot out from their hands that broke through the ice wall and hit the horse.

Hei long also didn't seem to want to do nothing at all as a lot of small claw marks appeared on the horse before he also kicked it to add to the fire pillars explosion momentum. The horse was rapidly approaching Weles again, he raised his right hand and water started to gather around his palms.

All of the water he gathered then started to spin and turn, creating lots of small razor sharp spinning blades and small vortexes. His hand hit the horse in the stomach again but with all of his water weapons floating around it. A lot of blood and small chunks of meat started to splatter all around with Weles getting a lot of it on himself.

The horses body dropped into the water and started floating a black ring rose up from the beasts body then. Weles looked truly horrific with all the blood splattered on his clothes and face.

Weles:"Good work everyone, we had good teamwork and completely dominated this soul beast. I will now start absorbing this soul ring it appears to be around 25k year old, anyway I hope you can protect me while I do it"

Weles sat down on the horses body and the soul ring started to come closer and closer to him, until it finally reached him. He seemed to finally start absorbing it so it's best to watch out for other dangers.

Well now this chapter came out long, fights always are long, and it's still not everything, good that I cut it up a bit otherwise it would be bulky, well I don't have much to say now just want to rest a bit after writing this so it's all from me. Well I like spoiling so let's just Say I'm preparing something for when mc reaches soul elder rank.
