Chapter 10: Beating up some criminals
"Grrgh" Slowly I started to regain my consciousness, my body was a bit sore but nothing else seems to be wrong. Not surprising I have been cultivating my body for 9 years at this point.
I started to look around trying to assess what has happened, I appear to be in a room, without any furniture or windows, there is only some light in it. I looked behind.
"It seems I have been bound" My hand had ropes binding my hands, I moved them around a little to test the ropes.
'They aren't exactly that hard to break for me' I have been constantly refining my body for the next 9 years, as well as cultivated without rest with a good line up of soul rings that also enhance my body, simply tearing apart the ropes wouldn't be a problem.
At that moment I heard some movement outside of my room, I quickly went on high alert tensing myself up.
'Calm down, if they come in you have to play all harmless and scared" I tell myself. Although my cultivation rank is high they don't know that, in fact I'm sure they think I have no soul ring at all. I also have to be careful, they are most likely soul masters, there may even me a soul grandmaster.
"Honestly man, we made a killing today who would expect a young girl to be running around by herself, kids always sell higher than usual" someone said outside of the room.
"Haha, that's for sure easy money if we ever had one, if only things like that could happen more regularly"
'Ouch, and that's after all that boasting I made back at home that nothing will happen' I also didn't think that my appearance would cause such... problems.
If I imagined it to be anything it would like, related to people messing up my gender, sort of? I mean the first thing you expect definitely wouldn't be to get kidnapped, but I guess kids were always easy targets for this sort of thing.
But now my pride won't allow me to take it! Today I will clean of this grievance with blood, if not my surname is not Cai! Sorry always wanted to say that, it's a cultivation world after all. In truth I'm still waiting for a chance to say courting death.
While I was trying to curse my kidnappers the door suddenly opened, and I quickly got ready to execute my made on the spot plan.
"Oh look at here the little princess is already awake" said one of the guys.
The other one closed the door behind and both of them came up from to my sides.
"We came here to check if you escaped but as expected It was a waste of time" He said as they both came closer. I tried my best to fake a horrified expression till they get as close as possible.
When they came close enough I quickly steeled myself, I circulated my soul power to my hands and quickly ripped open the binding.
I summoned Caliburn and lunged myself at the thug on my left, with a quick and swift slash I cut his neck, while two yellow soul rings appeared around me.
"A soul grandmaster?!" He quickly summoned his martial soul which was some kind of black stone-like ball, and a yellow soul ring rouse up from beneath his feet.
"I won't let you!" I quickly say, I have no idea what I'm not letting him do so I guess I'm not letting him retaliate?
I directed the blade behind my back and my first soul ring lit up. A burst of light shoot out from my blade and I quickly got to the other guy, with a flash I slashed off his head.
"*Huff*Puff*" Doing that made me gasp for air, I was trembling quite a bit and even pale, mostly from stress, being scarred and... killing those two.
I looked over their dead bodies without heads and blood spilling from their corpses. *Gulp* I felt like vomiting for a moment but I suppressed it even now my stomach feels a bit off. Really, I'm not too good with gore, especially in person.
After a minute I finally calmed down a little.
'Okay, these two are gotten rid of but I'm sure there are others, my only way is also through this door. I'm sure I can fight with more people like this, it won't even be a problem. I might get hurt since I'm not much in the battle experience department'
I look at the corpses one more time, and my expression turned quite ugly.
"I hope it won't scar me, time to go now"
I strolled up to the room trying to make as little sound as possible. I slowly opened the door before peeking my head outside. I quickly glanced left and right.
'No one seems to be here, feels weird sneaking around like that. Well it's still better to be safe than sorry'
After confirming that no one is there I stepped outside the room onto the corridor. There seems to be no passage on the right so I go left instead.
"Everything seems to be going smooth so far" I continue on.
*Creak* the door behind me opens up. I quickly turn around and see another 2 people come out form the door. 'F*ck I jinxed it'
They noticed me instantly and one of them shouted for everyone to hear.
"The kid escaped, help us catch her!"
I quickly turn back and summon my martial soul, while 2 yellow rings rose up from below my feet. The man's eyes looked a bit surprised but he quickly shouted to alarm everyone again.
"The kid is a soul grandmaster!?"
After his words fell I started to hear footsteps from my left and right, before I could even realise I was already surrounded, 2 people from my left and right and other 2 in front of me. Behind me on the other hand is a wall.
'Calm down and think.'
That's right I have to keep a clear mind there is a lot of them but I'm much stronger, the body sect congenital method rose my physical abilities to a level not possible for my current cultivation rank or age. Most probably I'm physically stronger than Wulin with 3 golden dragon king seals released if not even more.
It's also a chance, yes I should treat it like that. A chance to sharpen myself through pressure of battle, indeed they should be the whetstone for my blade to be polished.
I take a stance and ready myself for battle, one of the thugs seemed to want to say something but he quickly shut up. Probably realized I will fight no matter what he says. All the others at the sight of me readying myself released their martial souls.
Soul rings rose up one after another, and as I thought mediocre at best. One of them even has a white soul ring, and none of them are at the soul grandmaster level. Their martial souls from left to right seem to be some sort of wolf, knife, knuckles, a squirrel surprisingly sharp claws I must say. While the other two on my right seem to be a cutlass and a mallet.
They may be weak but being in the profession they are in, they definitely have more experience than I do, so I cannot afford to hold back! My second soul ring lit up and the blade of my sword got covered by my holy element giving on a bright golden light, it was packed on it so tightly some of the element was even going off of it.
Without moving from my place I slashed my sword in the direction of the guys in front of me, my first soul ring lit up, with a flash of light all of the holy element on my sword shoot out and impaled the squirrel guy through his chest.
It's a combination of my soul skills that I thought up, my second one is kind of like an enchant, and with all that element packed up in my blade I thought why not shoot it? So I created this combination, I didn't really name any of my soul skills as I think that is pretty cringe, though maybe I will later on.
All of them were pretty dazed after this so I took my chance and charged in front of me to the knuckles guy, you may think it's pretty stupid that I go where the dead end is, but right now I don't want to escape. I want to beat them up!
I slash at him with Caliburn, he really didn't just stand and let himself be beat up after seeing what happened to his friend, but I still managed to make a bit of a cut on his right hand.
He made a pained expression, but recovered himself quickly and punched out in the direction of my chest, I quickly moved the blade in front of my chest blocking the attack. He is quite strong, it made my stumble a bit to the back, I won't let it happen again though.
After seeing what happened the guy quickly took this chance and kicked me on my side, sending me more inside of the corridor.
'Now that hurt a bit' the body sect methods really are great I barely felt that, but I messed up. It really was too risky what I did, to be honest I hoped to kill this guy but it didn't work out.
I also can't recklessly use my soul skills as that will dry up my soul power quite quickly. I'm still only a soul grandmaster after all.
The other guys quickly went to back him up and now I'm pinned again. With no way out other than fight.
"Kid you should just give up, there is no way out!" The guy I was fighting just now said as he punched out with his left hand.
This time I decided to dodge to the left, the punch just barely missed me. Taking this chance I waved the sword in my left hand at him. The man punched my sword with is left hand.
To his surprise he got pushed back nearly falling on his back. I clenched my right hand into a fist and punched him in the stomach sending him flying, in a matter of seconds he already crashed into the wall.
The other four men were quite terrified, but they still pressed on. The mallet's guy soul ring lit up and his mallet got a lot bigger, its diameter was wider then me and the strike was filled with his soul power.
I dodged back, the hammer hit the floor so hard it cracked and left a small crater, when the hammer strike failed to take effect, before I even realized it the thug with the wolf martial soul activated his martial soul.
His fur seemed to become a bit green on its ends, it seems he can control the wind as right after the transformation took place the wind shoot him up towards me. He quickly appeared in front of me and kicked me in the stomach.
I still didn't regain my footing from the mallet's strike so I was sent flying a few meters back. When I stopped flying and hit the floor, the guy with the cutlass quickly charged at me and slashed it at me.
I quickly rolled to the right, but still felt a sharp pain on my shoulder.
'I can't let this go on like this or they will overwhelm me'
While rolling I quickly went up to get back on foot, but I still couldn't rest because a knife stabbed at me from behind. I was able to dodge it but the wolf guy quickly swiped both of his hands at me. I had to block it with my sword.
After I blocked his strike I quickly pushed him back with my strength, knowing someone will take the chance if I stay like that for too long. Sure enough the cutlass guy waved his sword at me again.
I cannot let them get the upper hand! My firsts soul ring lit up, as I was trying to counter his blow. With additional momentum and power behind my strike he got sent into the wall.
Sure enough fighting against 4 people at the same time is hard, just when I finished what I previously did. The mallet and knife guy both attacked me from my sides in a pincer attack.
I jumped up and both of them hit each other, sadly for the knife guy he got easily overwhelmed by the mallet guy and flew into the wall. And sadly for me the mallet lost its strength when it hit the knife guy so he was okay.
As I got back on the ground the battle seemed to reset, everyone was back in their original place. I near the end of the corridor and 4 thugs in front of me. The only difference is that the knuckles guy seemed to be knocked out.
I took my sword in both hands, and went into a stance.
