"Who goes there?"
A thunderous roar suddenly erupted, like a startling clap of thunder from the clear sky, nearly knocking Chen Shuiwen and his two companions off their horses.
Hiss!
Chen Shuiwen, Li Shengtian, and the third person's faces turned pale, their hands clutching their ears, as their heads buzzed loudly.
It was an utterly embarrassing sight.
Chen Shuiwen glared in the direction of the mountain gate, "Who dares to be so bold, hiding your head and showing your tail, intentionally frightening us?"
Xiao Yi glanced at him and said indifferently, "Chen, you worry too much. We of the Xiaoshanhe Institute are upright and aboveboard; how could we engage in such sneaky acts?"
"Upright and aboveboard? Hmph, if you really were, why would you hide your gate guardians?" Chen Shuiwen retorted with a dark face. That voice had almost scared him off his horse.
It was certainly embarrassing.
He had already heard many of the disciples discussing his panicked state.
