"Let's take a bath, Nami!" Anna said excitedly. Nami's placid eyes lit up. "Can we?"
"Yes, the water is ready. Let's go, let's go!" Anna couldn't wait.
The two happily packed up their clothes and looked at the steaming bucket of water. Anna also brought some rose tea from home.
Under the warmth of the hot water, the dried roses opened, and after a while, the water gradually turned a clear yellow color. The two undressed and entered the water, with roses floating around their white arms.
To keep the water from getting cold, Anna also prepared a raincoat to cover the barrel.
Anna and Nami sat at opposite ends, soaking in the hot water for a while. Their cheeks flushed with happiness.
"Ah, so comfortable. I haven't had a bath in a long time," Anna couldn't help but close her eyes and enjoy.
Nami smiled heartily.
Since the power outage and water supply shortage, the most extravagant thing they could do was take a bath with a small basin of hot water. Even being able to take a bath so leisurely felt like experiencing another life.
Nami couldn't help but feel grateful. "It's good to have a mother.""Huh?" Anna looked at Nami in surprise. "No, it should be my brother Ike who prepared the hot water for us. To be honest, my mother is not very good at these things!"
Nami asked, "Why do you say that?"
"To tell you quietly, my mother is not very good at washing clothes, washing dishes, or cooking. And now, the food tastes delicious because of the power failure... The best cook in our family is Alec. He's been taking care of our meals since he was fifteen," Anna laughed.
Nami was a little surprised. "What do you do at home?"
Anna coughed and replied, "I don't cook well either." Then she continued, "But I think it's okay, I can cook for myself, but they don't think it's delicious."
Nami couldn't help but laugh. "I don't cook well either."
"Haha," Anna laughed. "My brother is the kind of guy who looks unreliable, but sometimes he is very careful!"
"Ike seems fine," Nami said.
"Do you think so?" Anna raised an eyebrow. "That's because you've known him for such a short time. You haven't seen his true nature!"
Anna started scolding Ike for the silly things he did as a child. According to Anna, Ike was a mischievous little boy.
Anna said, "When he was young, Ike used to wet the bed. Afraid of being scolded by his mother, he deliberately poured water on my bed and then told his mother some lies, saying 'sister also wet the bed'."
After taking a bath, Nami found the scissors. Although Nami couldn't cut her hair, she still imitated the way others cut their hair from memory and gave Anna a clean, short cut.
Soon, Anna felt her head lighter. She washed her hair with warm water in a bucket, and the two of them wiped the floor. When they came out, it was dark outside.
Ike sat waiting for her on the mahogany sofa in the first-floor living room. Ike had a book in his hand. It was Nami. Ike was looking up at it.
When Ike looked up, Anna's long hair was gone.
Instead, she had short, wet hair, so wet you couldn't tell if it had been cut. "Why don't you dry your hair? It's easy to catch a cold, Anna," Ike asked.
"What if I don't have a hairdryer?" Anna pouted for a moment, then took the dry towel Nami handed her and continued to wipe her hair.
Then Nami went to her room, and Anna followed her. They talked in the room for some time until Anna's hair was almost half dry, and she came out.
Ike pushed Anna aside and knocked the water stain off the page. Anna pretended to be very aggrieved and said, "You despise me...""I didn't," Ike said.
"You have. That expression is in disgust at me!" Anna remembered that she had just been saying nice things about Ike to Nami. Although there are more bad words.
Ike closed the book and said to Anna, "Shall we go home?" Anna tossed the towel in Ike's face and stomped out in anger.
Ike accepted the half-wet towel, took a large umbrella from behind the door, wrapped the towel around Anna's head, and covered her with the umbrella.
"It's cold outside. You just washed your head, and it's not completely dry. Do you want to catch a cold? There's no extra cold medicine at home for you," Ike said accusingly.
Ike and Anna crossed the road with an umbrella. About 6 meters away, in less than half a minute, two people came back with half-wet pants. You can see how much it rained.
"You care a lot, huh!" Anna made a face.
Ike and Anna had been joking with each other since they were young, but deep down, they cared about each other.
The next day, Ike's four-man team continued to the market to dive for supplies.
Ike had good luck today. After entering the water, he encountered an undercurrent and accidentally rushed to a store where he touched a large bucket of mineral water.
So the next day, they came back with two buckets of mineral water.
Ike's original plan was to spend all his money and buy everything he could.
But now that they could get supplies from the water, and it was a wholesale market, couldn't they get more from there?
Nature is good.
It's just that their ability to stay underwater for long periods is limited. If they have equipment that allows them to breathe underwater, they would have access to more stable supplies.
Then they can take all the money they have and buy medicine, and they'll be safe for the rest of their lives.
They should be able to repurpose this large mineral water bucket into a simple breathing device. Ike told the others about his plan.
"We can punch a hole in the lens and attach it to a large mineral water bottle, and the water tape should seal the connection, right?" Tom suggested.
"We can look for glue. Do you have any glue in the house?" Ike asked Tom. "There doesn't seem to be," Tom said.
"With glass glue," Negan suddenly said.
What is glass glue?
Seeing the two children with blank faces, Negan said to them, "Of course, you haven't used it. It's a special glue that he uses to seal glass."
This is easy to do. They can use the coffee table water hose, linked to a large mineral water bottle, to make a simple breathing device.
Regus has a hose. All they're missing is glass glue.
On October 20, Ike's four-person group went out and found a nearby hardware store that wasn't open for business. They knocked on the door for a long time before the owner opened it and spent a high price to buy glass glue.
They didn't rush back after buying glass glue.
They had to use all the cash they had to go to the pharmacy and buy medicine.
They can buy as much as they can, but not necessarily everyone will sell because there are already people who don't need the money.
There are five pharmacies, two health posts, two dental hospitals, one public hospital, and one private hospital in the vicinity.
These are relatively recent.
The nearby health station has not been open since the power outage, and the far health station is the one where the killings occurred and has long been robbed.
One of the two dental hospitals is private, and the other is a national chain. On the fourth floor of Riker Plaza, which Ike and his friends haven't been to, I don't think it's open.
The private hospital is closer. Ike walked by once, and there were already bodies parked outside.
The public hospital is a little further away, and Negan and Regus have been there, and it's pretty much the same. The last time I went there, people were working, and now I don't know. But it's certainly not possible to buy drugs there.
Ike and others have been to the remaining five pharmacies, and almost all of the cold medicine in these pharmacies is sold out. But Ike and I do not care about money at present and believe that as long as there is enough money, they can buy.
They worked in teams of two, Ike and Negan went shopping while Regus and Nigan kept watch outside. The last time they came to buy drugs and got followed, we can't be so careless this time.
This isn't the pharmacy Ike went to last time. It's an older aunt, an old man, and a middle-aged man.
It's supposed to be intergenerational.
The pharmacy's rolling door was closed, leaving only a small door, which was blocked by a heavy table behind which the people in the pharmacy stood.
There was a couple in front of the store, and the woman did not know what strange disease she was suffering from. Her face was sallow, her legs were swollen, and even her trouser legs could not be put down.
Ike wanted to wait until they finished shopping, but the couple kept tossing in front of the concierge, showing no signs of leaving.
