[Skelengel Mk. 1]
[Description]
[Boundless Evolution. Grants access to Light Magic at no extra cost, an increase in stats, and a slightly different appearance, granting you wings.]
'So, this is my evolution line? I'm surprised I unlocked it so quickly, but there's surely some downsides to it. Being targeted by other monsters? Something else? I don't know, but I chose yes earlier. I can't go back.
[Choose Evolution Line: Skelengel Mk. 1]
[Yes] [No]
[>Yes<]
[Beginning evolution process]
[Please wait until you have awakened]
'Wait wha-'
And with that, Aaron fell unconscious, as his body began to make rapid changes to itself.
In his mind, he was just left wondering.
'What the hell just happened?'
A familiar voice then spoke to him.
[Well hello, Aaron! Didn't think you'd do something cool so quickly!]
'Oh hey, it's Ameratsu! How are ya?'
[Ah, I'm good. How did dying feel like?]
'It wasn't the most fun of things, if I'm being honest. Although, I can't help but wonder why I was able to evolve so early.'
[You killed two higher levelled beings, one even being a king. It makes sense, given that monster evolve the whole time underground.]
'Huh. Why do they evolve so much, Ameratsu? To keep up with the others?'
[Survival. Each monster has a subconscious goal of being at the top, but they don't realise it, and so they keep trying to get more powerful, for no reason to themselves.]
'Ah, well then, I guess it does make sense, given that I live in what is essentially a wasteland.'
[Yeah, that's an accurate way to describe the dungeon. It's like a desert, but with a lot of water and way too many people near it. People, or in this case, monsters, would be bound to get hurt or die.]
'Oh yeah, would you mind explaining to me about the evolution I got?'
[I don't know a single thing about it. Some other person gave the Boundless Ability skill to you, and gave you that evolution. What it does is beyond me.]
'Well, that's worrying. I'm going to be shocked if I get up without any crippling debuffs.'
[At this point, you shouldn't need to worry about evolution repercussions. It's the beginner stage, meaning that your body is actively ready to evolve itself whenever. Later on, though, your body would become tired from evolution, and you would need a break.]
{Switching to different bracket type}
{Evolution Complete!}
{New Skills Learned!}
{Magic Affinity Lv. 1}
{Medium Light Magic Lv. 1}
{Flight}
'So, these are what I have earned from this evolution? They sound pretty cool, also, flight? That sounds overpowered. Just fly around, and stab things. Makes sense for easy Exp.'
[Well look at you already planning things out! Oh yeah, to use any magic with any sort of competency, you might want to kill things with your magic to level up your Light Magic and the Magic Affinity skills. Just some advice.]
{Returning Aaron to New Body}
[Goodbye]

[View Appearance?]
[>Yes<] [No]
Aaron as then able to get a view as to what he looked like. He looked like he did before, but he had glowing wings which had a two meter length, wingtip to wingtip. They felt natural to him, for some strange reason. Possibly due to the evolution. He was able to, without thinking about it, make them beat, and lift him into the air.
[Flight Activated]
Aaron went flying around the large cavern where he defeated the King Skeleton, like it was a celebration. He did remember one thing though. His magic.
Aaron landed back on the ground, and pulled up the information about the skills needed.
[Light Magic]
[How to use: Draw on the power of magic from your head, and imaging any shape you can think of, although it has to be recognisable by you. Then, in tandem with your magic affinity ability, use it.]
[Magic Affinity]
[A catalyst for magic. This skill is only used as a way to utilise the magic. The type of magic being used does the work.]
'So, I have to think about a shape whilst drawing out magic from my head? How am I meant to do that? Do I need another stat to help with it?'
Aaron spent around an hour trying to draw magic from his mind, but wasn't able to actually get it out. He could imagine the magic as a ball, with a thread sticking out of it, ready to be used, but no matter how hard he tried, he wasn't able to grab the thread.
He gave up, resigning himself to trying again later, and decided to kill a monster while he waited. He was angry that he had made no progress with the magic, so he wanted to take it out on another monster.
He lifted himself into the air using his wings, and flew around the area, looking for something to kill. Anything would do. He just wanted something to attack, to relieve his current stress. This was when he found something.
In the cave system, there was a large cleared out area with grass, trees, water, anything that could be needed for survival.
And of course, this meant that monsters would be drawn to this place. Monsters could be seen as far as the eye could see, as the expanse went well beyond Aaron's field of view.
Aaron flew up to the ceiling, just to try an see if he could see an end, but no, it looked like it went on forever.
Aaron then smiled internally. He designated this area as 'The Great Expanse', and floated to the ground. He was going to have a blast here.
