Chapter 17: Blameless

Siri looked at the piece of paper in her hands and looked at the straight faces before her. Reporter Joe was already sitted and practicing the lines to be spoken while the camera men peered at her and then the camera from time to time. There were others at the door peering at her occasionally and talking amongst themselves. She saw Miss T staring at her at her and looked away immediately.

The room felt stuffy even though the air-conditioning was on and the conference hall seemed to shrink hitting Siri with a wave of claustrophobia.

She had suggested that they sit farther away from the door but they had informed her that the video would be better from the angle they had chosen.

Miss T waved and when she got Siri's attention, she placed her right hand on her cheeks and stretched, contorting her face while mouthing the word "Smile".

"Okay! Are you ready? We go in five."
