Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Selene's Visitor

“Thank you,” Onyx says through the mate bond as he kisses Selene on the head.

“You weren’t half bad yourself,” she says while trying to stand on shaky legs.

She dresses them and runs her fingers through her hair, fixing the tangled mess with magic. Another bath will definitely be in order tonight, she thinks with a giggle. Selene walks up to the door and opens it a crack. Her grandfather smiles at her from the other side, and she swings the door open to let him in. He looks around the room as he enters as if he has never seen this room before.

Onyx stands up as Lucas enters. His whole demeanor goes from happy to on-the-job boss in a matter of seconds. The sexy smile that once occupied his face has been replaced by a more serious tone. Selene observes the two Alphas and their body language as she crosses to join them.

“Have a seat,” Lucas says.

Selene and Onyx sit back down on the couch. It somehow feels less inviting than it did a few minutes ago.
