Chapter 18: Chapter 20
Dear diary,
We left Jessica at the airport. Despite her crappy attitude I kind of pity her. What could she have possibly done to have even his sister hate her? When we got to the airport she was completely ignored. When we got to the house Jean hurried and took me inside to give me a tour of the house and to have a girl talk. We left Yuri and Stellen to bring in the luggage while we enjoyed ourselves. She showed me the backyard, guest bedrooms, bathrooms, everything. She saved the master bedroom for last. She opens the door and pulls me inside. She turns to slowly close the door. She turns around towards me and smiles. "Welcome to my domain!" she jumps on the bed then pats the bed signaling me to come over and sit.
I sit on the bed then lie down. "This feels nice."
"Right? I knew I got the right bed. It feels perfect.'' She turns over and faces me. "So… you and my brother are officially dating?'' I look at her and nod. "Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to plan you guys wedding.'' I wanted to ask about Jessica. "You look so pretty Shi Shi. you looked so happy when I saw you with my brother. You almost never smiled. I'm glad you're better now."
"I didn't know you could tell."
"When you did smile it looked forced."
I looked down so as not to let her see me tear up. "I'm sorry I really tried to be happy but there wasn't anything to smile about. It wasn't easy for me back then. My best friend was the prettiest, smart, and popular girl at school while I was the ugly dumpling following behind. I was looked down upon because of it so it was very hard for me to be happy for a long time.
Jean reached over to me and gave me a hug. "You have always been beautiful from inside and out. They just didn't see it the way I did. You were like a Caterpillar waiting for its wings. Now you finally have them, so don't be afraid to fly ok.
The tear flow non-stop I was so happy to hear her say that. At that moment and for the rest of my life I no longer felt alone or ashamed. I felt like I just woke up from a nightmare and was going back to sleep for a sweet dream.
Stellen walked into the room shortly after. He saw me crying. He walked up to me and began to wipe my tears. He held me in his arms as if It was the last time he'd ever see me again. It felt really nice to think that this whole time I wasn't alone and that other people could see my pain. I could now stand strong in the front with the people I love.
*knock knock knock*
Someone was at the front door!
"I'll get it," said Yuri. He went to the door to open it. He looked through the peephole and saw it was Jessica. "It's Jessica!" He opens the door to allow her in. We all walk downstairs to greet her.
Jean and Stellens mom walks in. "Oh, Jessica it's so good to see you. It's been so long!"
"Sorry, I'm late. There was a lot of traffic and I had to take a taxi." Jessica looks Jean's way. Jean looks right back.
"Oh it's ok we haven't done anything yet. Have you met Stellens girlfriend? She's a wonderful girl."
"Yeah, I have." She glares at me. Jean's mom releases Jessica then grabs her hand. "Come come I'll show you to your room." Jessica grabs her stuff and follows her upstairs.
