Chapter 17: Chapter 19
Dear diary,
Today I got on my first airplane with Stellen. Stellen being there made it easier for me to not freak out. It was scary when we were first taking off. Every little noise the airplane made every shake made my anxiety go up by ten percent. I was so scared that I almost s*** myself. Stellen could see how scared he was so he held my hand the whole way there. Stellen looked really tired in fact ten minutes after we took off he fell asleep. He was leaning on me and holding my hand while he was sleeping. It made me feel good that he wasn't afraid to let his guard down in front of me. It wasn't just me and Stellen, a woman named Jessica came along too. I met her before we got here. Stellen didn't tell me the whole gist of it just kinda brought her up.
When we came to pick me up I saw a girl in the front seat. I walked up to the car. Stellen got out of the car to help me with my luggage. "Let me help you with that." he grabs my luggage and carefully sets it in his trunk. He closes the trunk then he gets in the front. Jessica is sitting in your seat, so you sit in the back. He watches you back and is angry. "Jessica sit in the back."
Jessica looks at him and laughs. "You can't be serious."
"I don't want to have to ask you a second time. Next time you'll be kicked out of the car." she scoffs then does as he says." He looks at Shi Yang through the rearview mirror. "Shi Yang as soon as you sit in the front we can go." Jessica looks at Stellen then glares at me. I get out of the care and get in the passenger seat. I put on my seat belt then we finally went to the airport.
Ten minutes have passed. Me and Stellen have been conversating this whole time while the lady in the back has kept her distance from me and Stellen most of the ride. "We'll be at the airport in five minutes. I turned around so Jessica could see my face. "So what's your name?" she looks at me then sets her phone down. "I'm Jessica." she reaches her hand out to give me a handshake. I grab her hand and shake it. "And you are?" Stellen interrupts "she's my girlfriend. Shi Yang." my face turns red. He just admitted that I am his girlfriend. Jessica looks shocked and disappointed. "Well, you're the girl he's been arguing with me about."
"What are you talking about?" I look at Stellen then he begins to give a little bit of detail. "This is my ex-girlfriend." I was shocked I couldn't even utter a word." Jessica smiles as if she's made a huge achievement. "You don't have to worry, it was years ago I would never get back with her." Jessica's smile disappears. "How can i be so sure not a lot of people can just let go of their ex and here you are escorting her to the airport."
"I'm only still friends with her because our families are very close together. I made a promise to her that I wouldn't tell our parents the real reason for us to break up." he grabs my hand "I only have eyes for you."
I was a little bit skeptical about it but I decided to believe him. I would have been fine if he told me he still had feelings for his ex because I would know that he wasn't lying to me. I can't tell if he's lying to me. I wanted to know why they broke up and what he promised her, but I couldn't. I could tell it wasn't easy to talk about. The rest of the car ride was quiet.
I will admit it felt a little good to see Jessica mad. It may or may not matter to him that she USED to be his girl. All I know is I'm his girl now so she needs to put herself in check. I don't care how close their families are, I won't hesitate to deck this girl in her throat. For the sake of Stellen and Jessicas family bond ima let it slide, but if she ever tries to break us apart again I'll drag her to hell.
I surprised myself. Is this how a jealous girlfriend acts? What I was feeling when I saw Jessica did not feel good at all. I felt icky. I wanted to smash her face in. I didn't care that they used to date. I cared that she was making a big deal out of it. She thought I would overreact and cause a scene. But it only made me see how evil and conniving she was.
*Three hours later the plane gets ready to land. I wake up Stellen so he can prepare to leave. Jessica is sitting behind us. I think i forgot to mention that she tried to switch our seats around so that she could sit with Stellen and she could make sure I was four seats away from them. It's a good thing he said something before I did because if I did I would have been kicked out of the airport.
We walk out of the airport and see Jean and Yuri waiting for us outside. Jean runs towards us completely ignoring Jessica and gives me and Stellen a hug. "How was your flight? Did our little Shi Shi cry?"
*nickname they gave her when they first met*
"I didn't cry, I wasn't scared at all."
Stellen looks at his sister and winks after I say that. She laughs. I see Yuri, my heart didn't skip a beat, I didn't get flustered, I didn't even blush. I let out a sigh of relief. Yuri helps grab my bag while Stellen carries his. "Come on our car is over there." Jean turns around and looks at Jessica. "We don't have room for you in the car, you'll have to take a taxi." she digs in her purse and pulls out twenty dollars. She throws it in Jessica's face. "Here's the taxi money, see you at the house." Jessica turned red and she was embarrassed. She stands there and watches us go to the car. We drive off.
