The next day that dawned on the kingdom was cloudy and oppressively hot, a typical midsummer day in the capital city, Coralyn. Rosa was in a hurry ever since she received word that the bedridden king had finally granted Count Highmore the audience he had been persistently seeking. And with the key to the locked drawer still in the making and the Count likely to leave the capital for the countryside after the audience, she decided she needed a second confrontation with Dorian.
