Chapter 25: Summoning him

Aurora furrowed her eyebrows as she helped Steven up from the ground.

"Are you sure?" She questioned as she stared at him worriedly. He flashed her a lopsided grin then nodded.

"Yes. I'll leave you both to talk, see you later, Aurora" The way he mentioned her name made her shiver for some reason.

She watched him walk away then turned to her father who was glaring down at her.

"Inside the house, now" He muttered then turned away from her and walked towards the house.

Aurora sighed then scratched her head. She was about to get a lecture and she wasn't looking forward to it at all.

As she walked into the room, she saw her mother calming down Veronica and her father's angry face staring at her.

She let out a sigh then meekly walked up to her seat and sat down.

"What the heck happened to your sister? Her arm is Fractured and I heard Xavier had something to do with this. How? How does he keep coming out of that cave?" Nikolas asked with confusion and anger in his voice.

"I can… I can summon him. I don't know how I do it but I summon him and he comes. He doesn't have all his powers and literally can do any harm" Nikolas raised an eyebrow at her then pointed at Veronica who was sobbing in the corner.

"Look at what he did to you sister, Aurora. He's dangerous" She shook her head.

"He's not. She pushed him to his limits and that's why he hurt her. Xavier doesn't like when people touch him" She retorted with a frown. If Veronica had just kept her hand to herself, nothing would have happened.

"Oh but you can? Does that make you feel like you have a chance with him?" Her frown deepened at the sarcastic tone in his voice.

"Nikolas please don't be like that, you remember what happened the last time you spoke to her like that" Roseline scolded with a frown.

"No father, I do not feel like I have a chance with him because he's more comfortable with me and treats me like his friend but it does make me happy to know that. I know he's never going to like me and that's why I tried dating Steven" Her father scoffed.

"Steven? You mean a guard? Aurora, what is the bad taste you have in men? How is Steven going to provide for you? Aim for something bigger, Aurora" She stared at him then scoffed.

"I aimed for Xavier which by the way is richer and more powerful than any other being in the world but you all made me feel like I was not okay for him which I agree with, I'm not on his level so I aimed for someone lower, someone I felt was more on my level and now you're asking me to aim higher? What do you really need from me?" Nikolas frowned.

"I just want what's best of you, Aurora and neither of those men are good for you. See from my perspective as your father and you'd see I'm right. Aim for an Alpha's son or Beta's son, not a guard or demigod" Aurora sighed then stood up from her chair.

"I'm tired and I can't handle this right now. I'll be in my room If you need me" She muttered then turned away from them.

"Stop right there, Aurora" She paused then let out a sigh before turning to him.

"Cut all ties with Steven and the demigod. I'll find you a suitable young man that'll be just right for you" She frowned.

"I can find my own man, I don't need your help so please, all of you, stay out of my personal life" She turned around and immediately walked out of his room.

Her parents, especially her Dad, were getting insufferable. Her mother had been in support of her decisions earlier and had even been happy for her so why didn't she say anything in her favor?

Aurora sighed as she walked into her room and closed the door before running towards her bed and plopping down on it.

Her parents always thought everything they did was best for her but was it really? Was what's best for her enough to keep her happy?

If she dated and married someone that she didn't like and couldn't even see a future with him, would that be what's best for her? Because it seemed like a nightmare she never wanted to come true.

She saw the way her mother and father loved each other and she wanted something like that. To love and be loved but maybe… maybe that was taken away from her the minute they brought her back to life.

Speaking of that, her mind suddenly wandered off to Xavier and her cheeks turned red when she remembered what she had said to him earlier. Was he thinking about her too?

She sat up on her bed then took a deep breath before a smile appeared on her face. If it was true that she could summon him, she was about to abuse that privilege.

"Xavier? Come, I summon you" She whispered then glanced around and frowned when she didn't see him. She was right, there was no way she could be summoning a Demigod.

She sighed loudly as she plopped down on her bed. She wished he was here though because his presence always made her feel better.

"Little wolf" She gasped as she shut right up from the bed and stared at him with wide eyes.

"Xavier? You came" She uttered breathlessly but he just kept staring at her.

Her eyes suddenly widened and she took slow steps backwards as he stalked towards her.

She gasped softly when her back touched the wall behind her but she didn't dare look away from his eyes that shone like the stars in the sky and he didn't look away from hers.

He stopped right in front of her then stared down at her. She noticed the way his eyes were drooping.

"Are you… are you okay?" He couldn't even say anything when he lost consciousness and fell on her…
