Chapter 8: Heal his heart

A small amused smile appeared on Xavier's lips.

"Oh yeah, the humidity inside this cave is absolutely splendid" Every word was drenched with sarcasm which made Aurora's cheeks turn red with embarrassment. Why did she ask such a stupid question in the first place?

"Erm…. I'm sorry" She muttered as she walked towards him but immediately stopped when his eyes suddenly turned cold.

"Don't come closer. I made it clear the last time that you shouldn't come back" His voice was low and calm like they were having a normal conversation but it still sent chills down Aurora's back.

"I just…. I just wanted to talk to you" Xavier stared at her for a while then sighed.

"Let me guess, they told you the truth?" Aurora nodded as she moved closer to him.

"My parents weren't thinking when they did that. They didn't mean to betray you, I promise. Find it in your heart to forgive them and I'll release you" Xavier tilted his head at her as a small amused smile played on his lips.

"Are you… are you negotiating with me, little weak wolf?" Aurora took a deep breath then nodded.

"Please, they are all I have. I'm not happy with what they did to you and I don't condone it but they are all I have. No one else likes me here so if you kill my parents, how am I going to survive?" Xavier scoffed then turned away from her.

"I don't need to hear a sob story, Little wolf. If you were expecting me to have some kind of compassion then you've got the wrong demigod. Do you even have any idea what being locked in such a tight space for years does to someone? It messed with my head, it destroyed my soul and any bit of humanity in me is gone and when the stake is removed, I will kill your parents but you don't have to worry, I'll kill everyone else in the pack as well" Aurora gasped at how sinister his voice was. He sounded…. He sounded like a devil just now.

"Then I'll never take the stake out," Xavier smirked.

"You couldn't even if you tried" She frowned. She saw in her vision the last time that she could pull it out but she wasn't so sure anymore.

She sighed as she stared at him. His eyes…. They looked so gloomy as if he was dead inside. Even though he threatened to kill everyone with no remorse, she felt sorry for him. She knew how much she felt like dying when she was locked in her room for a day not to talk about seventeen years.

"How about… how about I make you feel like a human again?" Xavier frowned.

"What are you talking about?" Aurora smiled.

"I'll make you know that not all of us are bad. I'll give you a piece of your humanity back" They stared at each other for a while, both of them not knowing what to say or how to feel about what she just said.

"And how sure are you that you're going to succeed?" His Low deep voice sounded in her ear after a while.

"Because I believe I'm a cheerful soul," Xavier scoffed.

"Yeah and that's why you have no friends" He muttered sarcastically.

"Just try me, okay? I promise when you let go of the hate in your heart, you'll feel so much better" Xavier shook his head.

"I'd only feel better if I saw all those who wronged me dead" Aurora's eyes widened slightly. What could she say now?

She took a deep breath before sitting down on the Cave's cold hard ground. The more she stayed with him, the more she understood how he felt.

He glanced at her suspiciously but said nothing which made her smile. At least, they were getting somewhere.

"When I was younger, my elder sister used to bully me a lot. She still bullies me but the prank she played on me when I was younger was traumatizing" She glanced at him to see if he was listening and when she saw he was, she continued.

"When I was five, she took me out into the woods because she apparently had something to show me and since she was my sister and I felt like she couldn't do anything to me, I went along with her but the deeper we went in, the more scared I became. Then all of a sudden, she pushed me into a pitch black hole and I ended up breaking a few bones because I was just a young kid with fragile bones and do you know what she did? She laughed while I cried out in pain then she left me there. I remember waking up back in my room with no memory of how I got there but I remembered the anger I felt towards my sister and at that moment, I wanted to hurt her so bad and kept that hate in my heart till I turned six but it wasn't doing me any good, it just made me miss out of so many things because I didn't want to be in the same space as my sister so I decided to get rid of the hate and start again and honestly, it felt so much better" Xavier pursed his lips as he stared at her.

Since she was practically using his blood to live, he knew about everything that has been happening to her since she was born and also knew about the time her sister had pushed her down the dark pitch. He had made Paxton go help her out and drop her at the pack house doorstep.

"What your sister did to you doesn't even amount to the betrayal plotted against me. I'm not like you and I can never forgive those who wronged me so you're wasting your time. Leave now, I would like to be alone" Before he could turn away from her, she grabbed his hand.

Xavier instantly froze then slowly turned to her which made her breath hitch. It wasn't out of fear but he was damn gorgeous.

"Open up your heart to me and let me help you. It isn't working because you don't want to forgive and I'm not going to give up till you feel a little bit of compassion"....
