One week later

"Hurry up." Genevieve grumbled, and she narrowed her eyes to see further ahead through the windshield.

There was a traffic jam on the road she was on, and she had been sitting in wait for at least thirty minutes. She tried several things to keep herself occupied but none of them succeeded. The blinding rays of sunlight that poured into the car made her all the more restless.

She was on her way to the police station and somehow, the road that she always took because of its emptiness, was jam packed with cars right now. The day where her officer badge was returned to her had finally arrived, but it seemed that even the universe didn't want that to happen.

Genevieve climbed out of her car and approached another vehicle. She spotted a woman who sat inside, and it looked like she was trying to quieten her crying baby. The female cop stood by for a little while before she signaled for her to roll down the window. And when the woman did, she voiced her question.
