Chapter 30: The body

 The detective, Conrad Hawkins eyed her, she could only but hope this was a dream because Laurie was shaking visibly, the color left her cheeks and her husband kept her from passing out.

10 hours ago.

 A lady was walking by a park hastily but her German Shepherd, whom most people were afraid of went into a frenzy at a pungent smell it may have distinguished from other scents. It broke out of its leash (the third this week) and sniffed around digging profusely.

 She rolled her eyes, why did she even try, he was dirty all over again, she called out his name with a commanding voice_so much for establishing dominance. She had no choice but to wait until his frenzy had died down to a manageable level.

 She leaned on a tree and sipped her latté, the vet could wait. Something caused her eyes to lower and the putrid smell exploded in the air, her latté came out of her nose and she screamed at the face buried beneath the sand.
