As soon as I had asked the question I regretted it. Her eyes dropped, her heart rate slowed, and her eyes began to fill with tears. I knew before she even answered what she was about to say. "When I turned sixteen he was killed, a hit and run accident." 

Sie's voice sounded through our link. "No way it was an accident, she was sixteen. I'd bet anything her father was about to tell her the full story. Going to let her make her own choice in the matter."
