Chapter 41: Preparations to depart

Monday morning, Chris went to work with a smile. He arrived at his office in the L Corporation headquarters with such a good mood, that everyone wondered whether he was going on vacation instead on a journey to negotiate prices and conditions of their import.

Or, maybe, the thought that he had given up authority was especially cheery for him. After years of sweating to run that conglomerate, he surely deserved to have some time for himself.

Morgan arrived at the designated time, eight o'clock. He was precise, just on time, and he found a radiant boss. Differently from everyone else, he could guess what was going on. But he did not comment; it was simply too dangerous to inquire or say ironic words.
